Its not going to get any easier heading into Big South play.

New offensive coordinator

Gabe Luvara is no longer at RMU. Not sure if he headed somewhere else or what.

Eric Gallon, who coached tight ends last year, is the new offensive coordinator. He was previously an assistant at Jacksonville State, Brevard College, Tennessee State, Youngstown State, among others.

Jobs currently being advertised on the RMU site for tight ends and defensive line coaches.

Big South to be down to 5 teams! What's next for Big South and RMU football?

With the move out of the NEC (more regional conference) our football team stepped up to compete in a conference out of our region. This was against schools with more scholarships to offer. I thought that it was a successful year competing against bigger competition that offered more scholarships. It gave us a measuring stick at where we needed to get to. However, with the departure of several schools, it looks as if the Big South will be down to 5 schools.

What is the next move for RMU football? What will the Big South do? will they look to add teams their conference?

It doesn't look to promising for basketball with their move either? Is it too late to ask to go back to the NEC for both sports?

We shall see.....

Truly disappointing loss to MSM

Embarrassing loss after holding a 17 point second half lead at home. I have to say they looked like a poorly coached team. I know they are mostly newcomers, however they are largely veteran upperclassmen. Terrible shot selection, quick shots, untimely turnovers, missed free throws, and how could we fail to cover the backcourt when you are shooting FTs with a 3 point lead and just a few seconds left in regulation and allow an uncontested 3 to tie the game is incredible.

RMU football

It was great for the team to get a win in its final game of the season, especially at home. The team proved it can compete in the Big South Conference. Clearly, Kennesaw and Monmouth were a cut above, and there was very little difference among the rest of the teams. Now, are the Colonials looking at a complete rebuilding job for next season? Looking at the 2 deep chart, the majority of players are Sr, R-Sr, or Gr.
I suppose some of the Sr. players may have another year of eligibility left. Does anyone have any insight?

The Cardiac Colonials comeback for big win

On a day where the defense had trouble getting stops, The offense had to be spectacular. George Martin had one of his most complete games of his career with his arm and his feet. Behind the impressive play from the Offensive line the Colonials were able to have a balanced attack and found a running attack that kept the Hampton Pirates off balance all day. The special teams were just that, Special. kick and punt coverage was superb and Nick Bisceglia nailed 3 FG's each one with more importance. The final kick put the Colonials up with just 5 seconds left to play.

So many huge plays in the game.
I counted 5 plays that determined the outcome.
1. The defense did come up huge and forced a fumble on the Pirates QB that changed the entire game. Down 28-20 and Hampton driving in RMU territory, the Defense recovered a QB fumble.
2. After RMU tied up the game 35-35 the Defense got a 3 and out. Sacked their star quarterback and then a huge play by a freshman DB with a pass break up on 3rd an 8 to force a 4th down.
3. A nice scramble by George Martin after Right Guard #69 Hayden Baron peeled back to pick up a rushing D end. Martin stepped up in the pocket and scrambled left before throwing a dart to the Tight End.
4. Nick Bisceglia getting his longest kick before halftime, Nick Bisceglia nailing it home for the game winner.
5. Garret Fairman and Supi with a half sack to end the game.

RMU win.

Fans and students need to show up this Saturday! Kennesaw St. is 7-1 and undefeated in the Big South. We need to create and atmosphere to help our team.

LET'S GO BOBBY MO!
