As the respective divisions settle in on conference play, there was an FCS win last weekend. Liberty showed Appalachian State it should've stayed in the FCS where its better tyo be the hammer than the nail. Appy State is in the Sunbelt which a glorified FCS conference masquerading as an FBS conference. Liberty won in OT 55-48.
This year the wins for FCS teams have been tougher to come by. FCS teams have scored 8 wins against FBS teams. Last year the FCS registered 15 wins; an increase from the typical 10-12 wins usually posted by FCS schools.
Although short on quantity, there was a few wins worth noting. #1 is ND St. smashing Iowa St 34-14 and of RMU interest E. Kentucky edged Miami (OH).
And in the "That's why FBS schools never play at FCS' home stadiums" Department, Army traveled to Yale to play in a Commenerative Game and lost in over-time in front of 32,000 in New Haven, Conn.
Hopefully these fun factoids will divert attention away from the train wreck that is the 2014 RMU football season. Basketball can't start soon enough!
