With the open period wrapping up over the weekend (meaning coaches were on the road and not on campus), we might see a visit or two this week or next. That could lead to a commitment.
I like this signing - just what we needed. I guarantee Matty, Josh & Koby start. So with Mendy's commitment, the roster should be full.
PG - Jon Williams (So.), Sayveon McEwen (Jr.)
SG - Matty McConnell (Sr.), Josh Williams (RJr.), Taevon Ashmeade (Sr.), Cameron Wilbon (Fr.)
SF - Koby Thomas (So.), Charles Bain (So.), Philmon Gibrewhit (Fr.)
PF - Chris Coalman (So.), Yannis Mendy (Jr.)
C - Malik Petteway (Sr.), David Cold (RSo.)
That's just a weak depth chart. Toole will have so many lineup combos. Bain could start. Cole could start. Williams and McConnell could both start with Koby at the 4.
Lots of versatility. Four guards who can handle, plus Wilbon.
Yeah, that makes the most sense. If a couple guys take off - like Bain or Wilbon or even Mendy - I could see Matty coming off the bench like Toole did with Lucky Jones at times. Still plays 30 minutes per game, but maybe helps lead the second wave as starters get tired.I like this signing - just what we needed. I guarantee Matty, Josh & Koby start.

He will absolutely be one of our "4.5" guys.I like the add.
I think Mendy will play some at the 5 too if he does indeed weigh around 240lbs.
Haha, that's a good way to put it since we know Toole likes mobility and a guy who can defend a couple positions inside more than a traditional big man.He will absolutely be one of our "4.5" guys.

Excellent recruit. We needed a big man who can provide some inside scoring and rebounding., Mendy can fill those needs plus so much more, on and off the court.
Mendy and McEwen both appear to be really quality JUCO recruits who should be able to contribute right away. I am really excited about the roster for next season. If everything holds together and the players come together as a team, RMU will be a legitimate contender for a championship. Go Colonials!
Nick Castelveter, a walk-on last year, has moved on to Westminster.
Also, after all that speculation, Taevon Ashmeade is gone. Looks like his absence in the second half of the season was academic related. So RMU still has a scholarship. Maybe they'll add someone late or just give it to Seth Rouse since they'll have Elijah Kiah El waiting on campus to be eligible next season.
Here's the long awaited official release.

I think RMU doesn't officially designate the redshirt until its official with the NCAA. David Cole's was marked because he was out with an injury. Williams could still technically graduate and leave next year, so he won't get a redshirt year until they petition the NCAA for it at the end of the season. He'll get it, but I think it's an official process. Also, this article says Josh Williams is a senior.
Which he might be academically but scholarship wise he should still be a junior.
Typo??
RMU has offered JUCO 6'7 SF D. J. Russell. He was a 3 star recruit out of high school with offers from the U and K State. He was all conference first team as a freshman. Not sure if he'll be a 2018 or 2019 recruit.
