6-foot-8, 240 pound Yannis Mendy is originally from France. Averaged 12.7 ppg, 8.1 rpg for his junior college.

I like this signing - just what we needed. I guarantee Matty, Josh & Koby start.
Yeah, that makes the most sense. If a couple guys take off - like Bain or Wilbon or even Mendy - I could see Matty coming off the bench like Toole did with Lucky Jones at times. Still plays 30 minutes per game, but maybe helps lead the second wave as starters get tired.
Those three should definitely start at the beginning of the year.
& I agree with @ColonialInsider that of those 3...Matty would probably be the most probable person to come off the bench.

I think Mendy will play some at the 5 too if he does indeed weigh around 240lbs.
Haha, that's a good way to put it since we know Toole likes mobility and a guy who can defend a couple positions inside more than a traditional big man.
And it’s hard to recruit talented centers to the NEC as they go to the bigger schools

Excellent recruit. We needed a big man who can provide some inside scoring and rebounding., Mendy can fill those needs plus so much more, on and off the court.
Mendy and McEwen both appear to be really quality JUCO recruits who should be able to contribute right away. I am really excited about the roster for next season. If everything holds together and the players come together as a team, RMU will be a legitimate contender for a championship. Go Colonials!

With some already saying it before, Washington didn’t fit too well at RMU. I think the new JUCO PG will be a nice backup to Jon Williams.

Nick Castelveter, a walk-on last year, has moved on to Westminster.
Also, after all that speculation, Taevon Ashmeade is gone. Looks like his absence in the second half of the season was academic related. So RMU still has a scholarship. Maybe they'll add someone late or just give it to Seth Rouse since they'll have Elijah Kiah El waiting on campus to be eligible next season.

At this point it should either be a Grad Transfer or just give the scholly to Rouse as he’s earned it. Great teammate & a good player himself.
Also, this article says Josh Williams is a senior.
Which he might be academically but scholarship wise he should still be a junior.

I think RMU doesn't officially designate the redshirt until its official with the NCAA. David Cole's was marked because he was out with an injury. Williams could still technically graduate and leave next year, so he won't get a redshirt year until they petition the NCAA for it at the end of the season. He'll get it, but I think it's an official process.
I think they need another scorer for the coming year, otherwise Josh better step right in for Burke. I'd grab a freshman finisher if I could find one late. They are offering a number of 2019 SG. Did the D2 30 ppg grad transfer we talked about sign yet?
I would take him for either class.
We might be done with this year’s class tho since the official class article has already been done.
