That's surprising. I wonder if something else had him away from the team the last month or so when we thought he quit. Grades? Personal? But it appears he's still there.

Yeah, someone had said to me Rouse was probably getting Ashmeade's spot, but if Ashmeade is still on the team, that info was obviously wrong.
So if that's the case then they have just one scholarship left and it definitely needs to go to a PG.
Currently have:
PG - Jon Williams
SG - Matty McConnell, Taevon Ashmeade, Cameron Wilbon
G/F - Josh Williams, Atem Bior
F - Koby Thomas, Chris Coalman, Elijah Kiah El
F - Malik Petteway, David Cole, Charles Bain
Always good info ColonialInsider, however I'd probably move some guys roles around on your roster. Josh may be more of a 2G, Bior more a 3/4, and Kiah El a 4/5. However you dice it, what's needed is a 1.
Yeah, that was just a rough sketch. We're going to see a lot of different combos.
I do think we can probably expect a starting five of Jon Williams, Matty McConnell, Josh Williams, Koby Thomas and Malik Petteway if everyone is healthy. But Josh and Matty can handle the ball some. Koby can slide to the 3 or even play the 5 in a small lineup. Bain and Coalman might even be able to move around some.
Definitely need another point guard to round it all out, though.
Koreem Ozier, a Wisconsin native who is currently at a prep school here in PA, is announcing his college choice on Wednesday. Ozier is one of the point guards RMU has been recruiting.
He visited RMU a couple weeks ago.

He'd be a good fit and step in as 1B at worst on the depth chart. They have offers out to other PGs too

Koreem had two official visits in recent weeks or months that he mentioned on twitter, Sacred Heart and then RMU. His tweets indicated that he really felt positive about Sacred Heart after that visit. After the RMU visit, he had just a polite tweet. He may have already been sold on Sacred Heart. I wish him well, except when he plays against the Colonials. Now, Coach Toole can get a guard with a decent haircut, LOL.

Lol can’t say I’m that mad he went there.
I would really like if Toole could find a JUCO PG to come play 10-15 min a game. Can help back up Jon & give him competition. & also has a lot less chance of leaving vs a freshman.
Everything I've seen indicates they're targeting high school/prep school players now. Tykei Greene, a HS kid from NYC who was offered back in January, seems to be one of their targets.
I’m fine with that too just a suggestion.
Not sure how many PG’s Toole has brought in as JUCO’s.
Most of his JUCO’s have been wings & big men.

Also same school as 2019 PF offer Esam Mostafa. I saw their team on ESPN this year. Greene did not stand out to me in what I saw of that game, and Mostafa looked very slow. Verbal Commits lists Greene as a SG.
A call is a long way from an offer. If those schools are just contacting him at this point they are exploring fall back options. Still he obviously shows a lot to get that interest.

RMU tends to announce its class all at once, so I'd imagine we'll get a release once the class is full and the paperwork is signed.
I agree, sometimes not until August, and that's my point. This is a D-1 program, fans are interested in these things. In addition, friends and family of the players want to see the press release. If a player signs and his friends and family, and the player himself, sees no mention of his name on the RMU website for months things are off to a bad start. Doesn't RMU care enough about its signees to put out a release immediately, or at least have some mention on its website? RMU does a much better job for women's sports, all women's sports, in that regard.
I totally agree that with each LOI there should be a tweet for them & an Instagram post.
I think the delays in the past have been because of late additions or guys who have needed to graduate and get clearance.
Hopefully that won't be the case with just one spot open.

My point is if you sign two or three kids in April, why delay any announcement regarding those kids for months because you are waiting for other possible recruits.
