On Saturday the 17th RMU travels to Charlottesville, Virginia for a 4:30pm tip against the University of Virginia.

This game will be televised on ESPNU.

For the Colonials, this is the toughest game of the year on their schedule. Virginia is currently ranked #13 in the country and has an 8-1 record with its only loss coming to WVU.

So far UVa only had 1 win in the single digits (a 63-61 affair vs OSU) and has taken care of the mid-major teams handily.

Even tho RMU will be against all odds in this game, I will most likely still watch it as I love Bobby Mo hoops and hope they can somehow not loose toooo badly (lol).

If RMU pulls off this upset, maybe the sky will be falling who knows... haha

Anyway....

Go Bobby Mo!

Ya we were in it until Virginia had a fire started and went blazing and took us down big time.

The first half wasn't bad for a while surprisingly. D. Burke had a nice break away dunk and we hung in it for a while.

Second half was awful to watch.

This team is missing scorers badly folks.

Isaiah Still can't do it all for RMU.

Matty McConnell is shooting like 25% from the freaken field.

Only decent 3 point shooters right now are Clive Alllen and Zay Still.

We're better on D than last year but even worse on O so well.

Would've been nice in Lor. Wright would have found his stroke from deep... he's only shooting 28% from 3.

We could use Pryor or Minnie right now....

Go RMU

Without outside shooters, RMU., or other NEC level teams, have no chance of keeping it respectable against ranked teams. It's a darn shame, because other than lacking shooters, RMU has a nice team. Although, LOL, not having guys that can put it in the basket is a pretty big missing piece of a team.

Hopefully we can get the JUCO kid that RMU offered according to verbal commits. He connects on a high percentage of shots, including 3s, and scored 103 points in a game in high school. I suspect that the coaches are putting an emphasis on finding a couple of high level shooters for next year.

I still am holding out hope that Matty is going to start to connect. It must be a mental thing. He was a good shooter in high school, and as I recall he made 7 three pointers in his first college (exhibition) game last year. It is not as if D-1 is too fast for him, he excels in other parts of his game. Maybe his shoulder is still bothering him, although he appears to have good form, the shots are just off the mark. Hopefully, he will have a game soon where he will hit three or four outside shots and get his confidence back.

Buffalo will be a good challenge. Probably better than any team we will face in the NEC. If the Colonials play defense and hit some shots they can win this "home" game at PPG. A win would be great as we head into conference play.

Go Colonials!

Nice post "GoRMU"

If Matty can start hitting his threes and Dachon Burke can contribute at least 5 points a game in NEC play, we'll be easily in the top 3-4 teams in the league.

RMU needs Matty tho desperately to play much better soon to contend in the NEC.

Without him improving, were like a top 6 team at best in the conference...

Also, hope that Clive Allen can be fed the ball more (at the three point line). He's 1 of 2 Colonials shooting over 33% from 3.

A win vs Buffalo would be really nice for not only our record but also the team's confidence heading into the December 29 tip at Sacred Heart.

Let's shoot the ball better and beat Buffalo!

Go RMU...
