This makes sense as someone said Lamb is injured and we are already thin inside. Wasn't Boyette originally a dlineman? Olinemen do not always make great Dlineman but sometimes they suffice. I believe Zamiska made the jump. Besides that Fairison likes BIG space-eaters at DT. They don't get much bigger than Boyette and Lamb.

I don't know him at all, but I really do root for boyette. He came in last year and performed admirably for the oline when called upon, and now apparently is going back to dline, to help the team i would assume.

Some real character guys, and guys guys were made last year through that long, tough season. Romancheck, obviously another off the top of my head.

The Dayton Flyers have figured out who will at start at quarterback when they open the season Saturday at Robert Morris, but Kyle Kaparos knows it’s not his job to keep.

The redshirt-sophomore from Upper Arlington won the job in a summer camp competition with Will Bobek.

“The last couple of scrimmages Kyle really came through with his passing and his decision-making,” Dayton coach Rick Chamberlin said. “Kyle is athletic, he can move around and extend plays. His passing is much better than last year, but it’s his mobility that is the key for him.”

The Flyers didn’t have a question at quarterback until fifth-year senior Alex Jeske broke a bone in his left foot a week before reporting for summer camp.

Jeske’s recovery was though to be 4-6 weeks after his surgery last month.
The timetable for his return is still up in the air, but the best guess would be the three-year starter could be back in the lineup in time for game No. 4, which would be the Pioneer Football League opener at Morehead State.

Kaparos played in two games last season, both times in mop-up duty in lopsided games.

He could be handing off to a familiar face. Younger brother Cole Kaparos is in the rotation at running back for the Flyers.
