Andrew - I would think that quite often RMU is competing with D-II programs for football recruits, but I rarely read of that being the case. Certainly here in W. Pa. there are a lot of strong D-II programs that you would think would be pursuing the same W. Pa. kids as RMU. Any insight?

That used to be the case quite often, especially when Robert Morris was non-scholarship. But Robert Morris is trying to compete with other programs now. There are a few prospects in particular positions where they're competing with some Division II programs who are offering these players full scholarships - Paul Carpenter, a potential H-back from Erie McDowell, is a prime example - but most of the other recruits have had at least some significant Division I interest.

John Banaszak stressed to me in our chat back in December that he wants to challenge MAC schools for recruits. That's the level he feels RMU can recruit at. We'll see how successful it is.
