RMU just recently released their college basketball Scheudle for this season...

Andy Toole & Co. put together another tough schedule that will really test the Colonials.

Winnable games-

The top four hardest games RMU will play this year in the regular season are:

Against: DePaul, Richmond, Kansas State, and Virgina.

RMU can get some name recognition and some confidence by even winning 2 of the 4 games. And I'd say they even have a shot at 3/4 games if the team plays well and develops to their poetenial.

Virginia is definitely their toughest game and would be a huge upset if they win, but with the style of play that UVa plays, RMU would have a better shot of beating them than say Duke or someone that plays faster ball...

Another cool thing is that RMU is hosting 2 home games at Consol Energy Center. The first one against Duquense which could draw a decent crowd and then another against Buffalo.

Thoughts on this??

Could be a move to set up for the following season when "the Chuck" goes under a major renovation.

Also, thoughts on anything that I covered or didn't cover??

Thx

Go Bobby Mo!!

I expect this team will win two games, at most, in the non-conference part of the schedule. As for the Consol games, it's going to be impressive cramming maybe a thousand RMU fans into that arena. ;)

I truly hope that my pessimism is proven wrong.

I think the Consol agreement is the start of something bigger. Work the kinks out with logistics etc for bigger games in the future. As for the Duquesne game, I would expect a very good crowd on hand. Far from a sellout at Consol (obviously) but I would bet they get a larger crowd than at Sewall by a large margin.

As for the rest of the schedule, I like what I see. It should prepare them for the NEC, and really that's the main goal. I like that RMU is playing some good mid majors in Penn, Bucknell, Hampton, Stony Brook/Towson, Buffalo, Richmond, Duquesne, Lehigh and Oakland. Plenty of opportunities to pick up solid wins. Not even going to try to predict wins because of the many unknowns, but they will be battle tested.
