With the move out of the NEC (more regional conference) our football team stepped up to compete in a conference out of our region. This was against schools with more scholarships to offer. I thought that it was a successful year competing against bigger competition that offered more scholarships. It gave us a measuring stick at where we needed to get to. However, with the departure of several schools, it looks as if the Big South will be down to 5 schools.

What is the next move for RMU football? What will the Big South do? will they look to add teams their conference?

It doesn't look to promising for basketball with their move either? Is it too late to ask to go back to the NEC for both sports?

We shall see.....

That would be a huge leap. that is a bigger leap than it was to the Big South. It would take a huge commitment to more scholarship availability and stadium enhancements and more money getting poured in to football to even be considered for admittance let alone trying to compete. Need to walk before you can run.

Well, the Big South certainly appears to be taking on water.

North Carolina A&T, which just joined the Big South as a full member, is now likely heading to the CAA.

That leaves the Big South with three full-time football members (Campbell, Charleston Southern, and Gardner Webb) plus Robert Morris.
