Starters were Jon Williams, Josh Williams, Matty McConnell, Charles Bain, and Yannis Mendy. Koby Thomas played.

Kent State is usually solid, although they're far from the best team in the MAC.

Looks like Toole has some work to do before USC on Nov. 6.

I was not surprised by the loss, but I did expect it to be a more competitive game. Josh is a good shooter, but obviously had an off game, 1-9. That hurt, but I have no doubt that he will have a lot of great games for the Colonials. The Colonials only hit on 5 of 22 3-pointers, that combined with being outrebounded 44-25 accounted for the difference in the game. Outside shooting and rebounding were the weakest parts of the team last year. Hopefully, it was just an off game shooting, and that will take care of itself. I remain hopeful that this can be a good team and compete for the conference crown, but the team needs to improve rebounding. As for the comment about, " I can see Toole not going all out for this game." Coach Toole expects players to go all out in every practice, he certainly is not going to tell his players to go easy against an opponent, even if it is an exhibition game. Go Colonials!

By my comment, I meant he may have used a deeper rotation, not played certain guys for a lot of minutes, certainly not that he told them when in to take it.

Sorry if I wrote that incorrectly.

That's a big deficit for an exhibition. Interesting that Cameron Wilbon had 7 points on 3 of 5 shooting in18 minutes. Team must do better on both ends.

I wasn’t surprised by the loss but the size of the loss. Hopefully we play better than this @ USC for the opener.

Not having our best big man (imo when healthy) in Petteway definitely didn’t help. Not sure if Toole is waiting to play him till real games start or if he’ll have to miss some games...we’ll see. Hopefully he’s ready to go game 1.

Does anyone knownif Petteway is practicing at all?
I've seen him in some Instagram videos the team has posted. There was one a while back of him on the bike under the eye of a trainer. And a few days or a week ago, he was doing individual drills with the other big men.
