RMU has posted a job for
Head Coach, Strength and Conditioning

Is Todd Hamer leaving RMU?

If so, I am sorry to see him go. I wish him nothing but the best.

I am surprised, thought he was pretty entrenched there.
Just speculating, but wouldn't surprise me if football pushed for a change.

At small schools like RMU, the strength staff is often spread between all sports but the biggest ones have more pull. So with a completely new staff in place in football and strength/conditioning a point of emphasis, maybe that's part of the reason behind the change.

Thought I read it here that football was at a disadvantage when it came to strength and conditioning?

Someone sent me this link. I decided to tell everyone here that cares that yes I was relieved of my duties at the beginning of June. I have had a great 11+ years at RMU and thank everyone who worked hard (the student athletes first and foremost) over that time. I have worked in strength and conditioning for almost 20 years and over half of my time was spent at RMU. I had a few chances to leave for "bigger schools" yet I believed and still do believe in the vision Del'Omo as well as Howard have put forward. I wish all the teams well and while I have had a few new opportunities come my way I doubt I'll be staying in the area (life of a coach) and I will always remember how well the students of RMU treated me. When my son was born 6 students came to the hospital to greet him to this world. Nolan Nearhoof, Brad Banas, Logan Miles, Artemis Spanou, Una Japunza, Jordan Thomas, Ian Milanek, Matt Barr, Aaron Tate, Lou Mataly, Ashley Ravelli, Karvel Anderson, Carlos (no one can spell his last name), Codi Casper, Mike Cook, Kayla Crooks, Meg Smith, Anna-Niki, Amanda Graham, Hannah Veith, Sean Riley, Marcelius Branch, Chris Roberts and his awesome wife DOZER, and so many others had such a huge impact on me and for that I thank you.
Also, for those of you on this message board thank you for caring about the students and the university.

Todd,

Thank you for the update. I have no knowledge of the circumstances involved. I know you have been well respected by many including student/athletes and colleagues in your profession. I wish you nothing but the best.
