Ugh - missed FTs have now cost us two games. That and digging huge first half deficits. Significant improvement from Sunday so we are definitely headed in the right direction. In Andy we trust!

FYI, Kavon Stewart was a 3 star recruit actually out of high school with offers from Cinci and Seton Hall, to name a few, wish he would be more dependable down at the Free Throw Line for RMU.
He can drive so well to the hoop and pick up fouls, hope he can become more confident at the stripe and get to a higher percentage.

Andy Toole needs to work on Free Throw Shooting in practice! Play knockout even!

Transition defense also needs to be worked on. Need to hold teams to less than 81 (what Bucknell had tonite).

Note**** - Pryor hurt the Colonials tonight by shooting 2-9 from 3. Needs to do better than that for RMU to win vs a good team like Bucknell.

Andy really needs to get the team together and go in a get some wins on this 5 game road trip. A win against Air Force on sunday would be a great start!!!

Go Bobby Mo!

I agree, I think Kavon's game has really improved and his ability to get to the basket is special. I think it says a lot that RMU was right there at the end of the game with their best player struggling shooting the ball..Bucknell is arguable the best team in the patriot league, and give them credit, they played well and capitalized on RMU's mistakes

I like what I see. Here are my more advanced thoughts (http://chroniclingthecolonials-rmu.blogspot.com/2015/11/0-3-starttime-to-panic.html), but overall things are going to be OKAY.

Right now were playing without two starters while trying to essentially replace two others. Injuries have not helped, but we could easily be 2-1 with some made FT's and hustle plays. Really think Still could be a great player, and it looks like Minnie is THIS close to becoming a star.

Starters:
PG- Kavon Stewart, 6-0- Junior, 190 lb.
SG- Matty McConnell, 6-2- Fresh., 195 lb.
SF- Rodney Pryor, 6-5- Senior, 205 lb.
PF- Elijah Minnie, 6-8- Soph. 215 lb.
C: Aaron Tate, 6-5- Senior. 230 lb.

Bench:
G: Isaiah Still, 6-6-Fresh. 190 lb.
Steven Whitley, 6-4- Fresh. 210 lb.
Jordan Lester, 6-2- Fresh. 190 lb.

F: Billy Giles, 6-7 - Junior, 200 lb. (JuCo transfer)
Joe Hugley, 6-7- Fresh., 210 lb.

C: Andre Frederick, 6-8-Soph., 225 lb.

***this was my projected lineup before the season started.

** when I made this, I assumed Whitley would be getting more minutes than Leater, but in reality Lester has impressed while Whitley hasn't (yet).

*Whenever Mconnell is heathy again (assuming Still continues doing well), he (Matty) might come off the bench. Still impressed not only yesterday against Bucknell, but also scoring in double figures vs Cincinnati (on 4-8 shooting too). Still was this team's highest rated incoming recruit and his talent is certainly showing already.

-Another note....., Joe Hugley was also rated a pretty good recruit (for RMU) as well. I hope he gets heathy soon so we can se him play and hopefully improve the team. At 6-7 ,210lb, he can play the SF or PF position. Watching his highlight tape, he can hit threes, and block shots pretty well. He was also ranking in the top 25 players in Md, at 24. If Giles doesn't improve (Dre and, Tate health wise) he could see some minutes.

-----Once everyone is healthy and the being "young" issues start to clear, (And Elijah Minnie scoring more PPG!), RMU should be fine. Possibly even more than fine, potentially pretty good!

Go Bobby Mo....

The team should be 2-1. Really dumb mistakes have cost them. The good news is, these games mean very very little this early in the season for the most part in terms of wins and losses.

Now we don't want to get in a long losing rut, and this road trip will be hard, but it will be a good eye opener for the team. I expect a solid trip, including a win at Air Force to start things off on Sunday.

I think that they can beat Air Force, but will they? Can they build a lead/ stay close and not fall 15 pts behind.

Air Force only beat Mississippi Valley State!! the other day by 1 so RMU better win.

If they play a full 40 and play good in the beginning, they hopefully can pull out that first W.

Go RMU

I think it all depends...I still think they have learning to do as far as rotating in the zone and communicating with each other. They look a bit tense and hesitant early on in games, so hopefully they get more comfortable (the young guys) with the speed of the collegiate game. We see it every year, it takes a while to click, but once it does, it's very exciting. This road trip will be an early and very tough test for the colonials. RMU needs Kavon to step up and play turnover free ball for a full 40 mins. He dictates the speed of the game and RMU needs him to be a leader...if Kay, Rodney and Elijah can get on a roll collectively, it will be easier for guys like Isaiah Still, Matty(when healthy) Jordan Lester, Giles and Dre to get in a rhythm.

Yeah,
Agree with you.

Minnie needs to put up double figures every game for RMU to win (especially without Matty playing). If he steps up as a reliable scorer (12-16 PPG) this team will be fine. He needs to realize that Lucky and Reed are gone, and now it's his turn to let his star power shine, and to step up to the table.

Go RMU...
