First FBS/FCS post of the season. Picking up from last year the FCS scored 15 wins against "Big Brother" which represented an increase from the 10-12 win average. The most entertaining result had to be Georgia Southern upsetting Florida in their last game as a FCS team; GSU moved up to FBS this season.
The 1st week saw many near misses including Villanova giving Syracuse a win after a late, short FG miss. Syracuse needed overtime to pull out the win. Locally, Duquene lost to Buffalo out of the MAC38-28. Only FCS champ North Dakota St. and Bethune-Cookman came out on top as ND State drilled Iowa St. 34-14 and B-Cook beat Florida International 14-12.
I see (5) games which we could see an upset. Stoney Brook at UConn, Sacremento State at Cal, E. Wash at wASHINGTON, Richmond at Virgina and RMU's 1st week opponent E. Kentucky at Miami (Oh). All these games feature teams that play in close proximity of each other and since its early in the season depth isn't as much as an issue as it will be in a few weeks.
As Chris pointed out our opponent North Dakota was mauled last week and should not be confused with the top dog in their state (ND St). Hoping all our new faces will get it together this week!
