Coach Clark - Official announcement

The players seem to be really excited about the staff lots of energy and passion

That is fantastic news. Think the only departure that has been named is dreher. But sounds like the transfer will be able to help immediately.

From the postings on here it sounds positive and something to be excited about. Really happy about what m4 posted earlier also. Needed a culture change, seems like that is happening.

If all QBs stay, will be best group we have had in many many years.

Spring ball may have a lot to say about who stays, too. Guys looking for playing time or curious about how they fit into the schemes on offense and defense may be wise to see how the spring goes before making a move.

Something I noticed recently on Twitter with the assistant coaches - they all have a graphic on their page that shows where they recruit. That's pretty cool. I don't know if the last staff had things split up geographically, but it looks like each coach has an assigned area under Bernard Clark.

Dave Plungas - Pittsburgh, Erie, Cleveland, Akron, Canton
Gabe Luvara - Pittsburgh, Central Pa., Maryland
Kyle Cooper - West Virginia, Youngstown, Northeast Pa.
Larod Stephens-Howling - West Central Pa. (Johnstown/Altoona) and Central New Jersey
Nick McVay - South Central Ohio, Northwest Pa.
Rod Holder - Nothing yet
Delbert Tyler - Western Pa.
Ryan Mativko - California

I'm guessing Southeast Jersey and Philly will be an area, maybe D.C. and parts of New York. Maybe Holder or Clark will handle Florida recruits since they're from the area.

Tolentino has bounced around a lot, mostly at the high school level. He's coming off two years as a high school (King) head coach where his record was 0-20. King High School has gone through a lot of coaches, I assume none have been successful. Coach Clark apparently has known Tolentino for some time and sees good qualities in him. I gather that he is really dedicated to helping his players prepare not only for football but for life. I guess he will help with "culture change." He may help open some recruiting opportunities in Florida and other parts of the Country. His resume' does seem to me to be a bit thin at the college level for him to be immediately named Assistant Head Coach.

It's an interesting and diverse coaching staff. Coach Clark's leadership, especially in the first year, will be important to make sure everyone is working together with the same priorities.

I still follow but I'm not as active as I used to be. Cole walked on senior day, his plans are to get his masters at another institution

Congrats to Cole. Excellent student/athlete and representative of RMU and college football.

Great group of guys. Experienced and strong leadership at the top with Clark and Holder, some energetic young guys, such as Cooper, Tanski, Tyler, Mativko and the rest falling in between those two categories. This group gives us broad recruiting reach. This seems to be a staff that is dedicated to helping the young men grow and succeed on and off the field. Coach Clark sets the tone to achieve that and has hired coaches who want to accomplish the same. Holder is a back to basics kind of coach. I believe the O-linemen will have a lot of confidence in him and after these years of the OL being a weak point will become a strong unit. Go Colonials!
