Lorenzen Wright is transferring per Verbal Commits I accept that there is an transferring epidemic in college basketball, but come on, this leaves us with four returning players, including one without any playing time experience. I would say that Wright is not a big loss except that any player with any playing experience is a big loss at this point. Lorenzen probably can be classified as a recruiting mistake. He shot the lights out at the JUCO tournament last year and that's probably where the RMU coaches scouted him. As it turns out, he is a good shooter, but not outstanding enough to make up for his other lacking skills. Jordan Lester was also a recruiting mistake. He is from the State of Washington, yet no D-1 school in the northwest, or entire west, or the rest of the Country offered him, but late in the game RMU decides that he is a better recruit than any player that lives within RMU's normal recruiting areas. Assuming Robert M is gone also, I will put him in the same category. He is a big guy, but lacks D-1 athleticism.Robert Morris was his third school in three years, I guess he will now be looking for his fourth in four years. I would rather see RMU go after local players that are more likely to stay and develop over the course of their careers. Nick Smith of North Hills is being recruited by top D-II teams. Maybe the RMU coaches have determined that he does not have D-I talent, and if that is the case, that's fine. Or, maybe they are recruiting him, I don't know. But there have to be kids that have potential that live a lot closer than the State of Washington or a California JUCO.
