Making a poll to see what everyone thinks about this...

Also, comment below about the topic and anything RMU basketball related.

Thx and Go RMU...

I voted for Still.
Also, Stephen Bennett could be the most improved player this year. He worked hard in the off season and has really bulked up.

I like Still starting too (over matty due to his size and length he gives to the lineup).

How much do you think Bennett has gained? It would be great if he put on at least 10 lbs and rebounded better. He has always had the hight, needs the in weight.

And, is there ANYONE on the roster that could be redshirted ??

Bennett has put on more than 10 lbs of muscle, maybe closer to 20 - 30 lbs. He is an impressive looking D-1 big man.

I doubt Coach Toole has any definite plans to redshirt anyone at this point. I think he believes all of the new players have the ability to contribute this season, so he will just wait and see how things play out. With that said, as things stand now, there is going to be a lot of competition for playing time. If the roster stays intact, there certainly could be the opportunity to redshirt a player or two. As of now, in addition to the 13 scholarship players, I believe there are 3 walk on players. It does not look as though assistant coaches will be getting much playing time in practice this year!

So... Any chance Bennett could start over Tate then??
Cuz having a big lineup could be nice.

Say a starting lineup of :

Kavon - 6-0
Pryor- 6-5
Still- 6-6
Minnie- 6-8
Bennett- 6-9, (and if he's 240 lb now, whoa...)

That could be really nice... (especially being in the NEC). Granted, Tate could still get 20 + minutes off the bench. Toole really likes Tate so idk how likely that would be, but... It could still be a lineup we see on the court at times.

Did Andre or Minnie put on any lbs so far this offseason ??? Or anyone else? Thx...

Anyone agree/disagree? Comments?

Thx...

Hawk (Bennett) is hugeee now. Put on a ton of muscle. Hopefully it translates over to the court.

Looks as though Lionel Gomis has left the program.

No surprise that Leo is departing. He struggled to contribute last year and was going to be buried on the depth chart. Best of luck to him in his next step.

Good to hear that Hawk has beefed up. Hopefully, he has a big senior year.

Do not know what he is doing, but with Tate and Minnie as returning starters, Hawk looking awesome and Andre having a year of experience under his belt, Gomis probably would not have gotten much playing time.
By the way, Kavon has also added muscle and looks like a high level point guard.
Rodney and Elijah are outstanding talents who are ready to pick up where they left off last year.
I have heard a lot of good comments about Isaiah Still, a likely stater. Also, expect Matty and Billy to contribute right away.

Very, very excited about this team!

Plus if Rodney's legs are completly healthy and that big brace comes off, watch out...! (Dunks too lol).

Hope Leo is the ONLY person to leave the team this year. Any chance they fill the scholly or is it just way too late now?

Probably too late to fill the spot this season. Dont think they really need it either. Depth shouldn't be an issue.

Yea... A lot of minutes up for grabs and some talented players won't get time this year. It will truly push the players to play and practice hard or else the next (talented) dude down the line on the bench could take your spot. Toole will be playing the players who give their heart out to the game and play tough, hard-noises defense like RMU teams of the past.

Should be a fun year.
