College basketball players transferring has been increasing now for a number of years. In addition to players transferring due to a coaching change, a bad fit or transferring down in order to get more playing time, we now see more players looking to transfer up. For a team that plays in a low D-1 conference, that has a history of losing a lot of players for every conceivable reason, maybe the recruiting strategy should change to bringing in more JUCO players. If a team is only going to have a player for a year or two, may as well have players with a couple more years of physical and mental maturity and playing experience.

Robert Morris has certainly had some good success going this route, especially under Toole. Karvel Anderson, Rodney Pryor, Aaron Tate among others were all JuCo recruits.
