I haven't following the program as closely this season as the past two and I was curious about a couple guys...

Andy smigiera- I know he broke a collarbone and was out atleast 5-6 games. Is there an update on him? Is he still gonna play this season? Or are they gonna redshirt him and have him back healthy for next year and use this as a rebuilding season?

Jimmy Masson- tore his acl, is he coming back next year? And how is his recovery going?

Chase bodeman- heard he tweaked his groin and came out at Youngstown, is he healthy? Or is he taking a medical the rest of this season?

Drew garbenis- broke a finger or wrist, can't remember. But does anybody know a time frame on his return?

Matt fennell- wasn't at the game Saturday but heard he left with an injury and didn't return. Does anybody know the severity of his injury and when he may be back?

Here is my best guesses, rumor or no clue...

Andy smigiera- Got to be close. Guessing some of the call is how the NEC goes if somehow they make a run he comes back to help. If not looking at RS for next year.

Jimmy Masson- Crickets...no clue

Chase Bodeman- Tweeked in camp, retweeked at YSU. Falls into Depth Chart to a full recovery I'm sure with Buss coming back.

Drew garbenis- took a lot to put back together the finger. Probably 3-4 more weeks would be a guess

Matt Fennell- It was a knee, probably going to take their time with this one. Maybe a week or two.

Andy- Wouldn't surprise me to see him back this week or next !!

Jimmy- I believe the plan was for Jimmy to get the knee repaired and come back next year ???

Chase- Haven't heard an update since ysu but would seem like he would at best be the third option right now.

Drew Garbenis- In mine and Original_RMC day they would have just buddy taped the fingers together and not miss any snaps let alone almost 6 weeks. In my opinion best you could hope would be some practice depth here.

Matt Fennell- Hopefully this young man can make a quick and speedy recovery as he was making strides the last few weeks.

Can I play? Please? Nothing but what I would do if on the staff:

Andy Smigiera - I believe he is close but your DBs are doing well. Not saying you can't plug him back in ASAP but then you move Branch back to CB and bench Stott?
I would Red-Shirt Andy.

Jimmy Masson - I haven't seen him around much. It has be to Red-Shirt.

Chase Bodeman - Sad that they burnt his Red-Shirt against YSU for less than 1 quarter. With Barr back now, I would look to a medical red-shirt.

Drew Garbenis - if he is not back by NEC opener, you have to entertain a medical red-shirt.

Matt Fennell - I would hold him out against Liberty, rest that knee. Let Potokar take the start at RG. Get Matt ready for NEC.

Agree with O_RMC.
The only of the above that I really think needs to get back for NEC is Fennell. That young man will be a stud, and the playing time will greatly help him in the future. No point risking further injury against Liberty, and after that if he is iffy, sit him out for another.

If Garbenis can be back from NEC and is ready to roll, play him. If not, shirt him.
