Lots of positives in the loss. Gcu is no joke. If they can hang and keep it tight with all the new faces it would be great.

Tomorrow is the final day of the early signing period for 2018 recruits. At this point, there is no indication that RMU has signed, or will sign, anyone. Following Verbal Commits, RMU offered a number of players, but most ended up committing to other schools. A lot of those offers may have been reaching for higher rated players, as some of the players committed to programs in high-level conferences.

I like an early recruit or two, but it doesn't look like it will happen this year.

With only two seniors on the roster, it's going to be a small recruiting class. Even if there's a traditional transfer or two (it's college basketball, there's bound to be at least one), it won't be a massive class.

I also anticipate at least one JuCo addition to balance out the classes. RMU will have three seniors next year with Matty McConnell, Teavon Ashmeade and Malik Petteway. Josh Williams will be eligible and join Dachon Burke as a junior. But there will potentially be six sophomores if they all stay.

So I expect a JuCo forward to add to the junior class, someone who can fill in around Petteway and David Cole. And I expect a freshman shooting guard, someone with some range.

If you look at the offers, that's what's trending anyway. Per VerbalCommits, RMU has offers to just two JuCo guards, which are probably back-up options in case something happens. But the Colonials have offered seven JuCo forwards, all of them at least 6-6.

Meanwhile, RMU has offered just three high school big men and six high school guards.

Toole probably will add at least one Forward/Center.

That would get us to 3 with Cole & Petteway.

C. Bain can play either the 3 or the 4 as he's 6-8. If he's playing the 4, tho, he's def a stretch 4. He still doesn't count as a "BIG" to me tho unless he gains some pounds.

Anyway, hopefully we're only adding 2 or 3 players to the team in next years class.

Go RMU
