It's time. The annual Pittsburgh Basketball Club Pro-Am begins on Monday, June 23. The rosters and schedule are set, and there are some changes to this year's event.

All games will be held at Montour High School in Robinson Township. A few games were held there last year due to scheduling conflicts. It's a nice gym, a significant upgrade on Greentree (which had its own charms). Parking will be easier. All games remain free.

The other schedule change is that there will be two games happening at once and four total games per night. Montour has two gyms, and NCAA rule changes led the league to expand to eight teams. So you won't get to see everyone every night, unless you split time between the two gyms. Games will tip at 7 and 8:15, so at least the night will wrap up sooner.

The NCAA now mandates that summer league teams can now have a maximum of two players per school on the roster, regardless of their status. In previous years, you couldn't have more than two returning players. Transfers and freshmen didn't count. Now they all count, and that meant the expansion to eight teams.

Thanks to organizer John Gianmarco and PantherLair hoops guru Matt Steinbrink, I've added the full rosters here:
First three teams
Second three teams
Last two teams

And here's the schedule

If you're interested on who will be playing whom from Robert Morris, here are the pairings.

SYSTEM ONE - Marcquise Reed and Aaron Tate
BAKERY SQUARE - Jairus Lyles and Rodney Pryor
SHALE ATTORNEYS - David Appolon and Charles Oliver
GNC - Lionel Gomis and Jafar Kinsey
UPMC - Kavon Stewart and Andre Frederick
CRONS - Elijah Minnie and Ryan Skovranko
PGT - Lucky Jones and Stephan Hawkins

The only team without a Robert Morris player on it is South Hills Audi. That means every game that's played will have at least one team with RMU representation, provided the players are there that night.

We'll be covering the summer session like usual. It's usually a quality display of basketball and provides a great early glimpse at who might be ready to contribute or take a step forward.
