didnt get to watch the game today. Can anybody give me a rundown? Saw the bad numbers on offense, what happened?

Tyblake
Just watched it, Carroll had a rough day. Couldn't run. Numbers say it all on O. D played their tails off. Their one score was from 5 or so yards out after the pick. O just is not anywhere near where it needs to be. Guys seemed to get open to me on slants etc you could see from video, but tough to tell when watching online.

Overall, more of the same. TOTAL Offense 98 YARDS. That has to be a record low for RMU.

Was it on the line or on Carroll? You wonder why they didn't give chase a shot if he was struggling so bad

My opinion, they cant run because they cant pass. Teams just sit run, so not sure I would blame line for that. On a small side note, Vecchio did a good job picking up LB's the the couple times I focused on him.

I really think Carroll just had a tough game. I was really surprised they did bring Chase in, but maybe they want to keep the medical red shirt in play. Not to pick on Carroll, but he can not "sling it".

I know most people here know this, but our D, if the best, is the second best in conference. I know we have been down this road for a few years... Lets just hope O can get something going next year. They do not have be great, just competent.

I think your gonna see a competent offense next year. Not only do these guys have a season under millers system, we have seen a ton of improvement, but a QB will truly turn this team around. I give props to every guy who has stepped in and gave their all this season, but the fact of the matter is that this is division 1 football. We have 1, maybe 2 division 1 qb's on the roster. We are currently down to #5 on the depth chart and when you are down that far, I don't know any team that can manage like that. Once again, it's nothing against these kids who have played their best, but what we have just hasn't cut the mustard in a few weeks

As was mentioned in another post. They are going to need probably get two QBs coming in this year. Sounds like Brumbaugh and Carroll are gone.

Who know what would have happened this year if Barr had not gotten hurt doing bear crawls.

With Barr who knows? It is a toss up really? We might have been a bit better but then again we are playing 4 TRUE freshman on a regular basis on the oline and our RB's are in the 170lbs. range. This is not to mention all of the freshman playing elsewhere (WR/TE/RB).

Carroll's stat line today was 9 of 32 for 27 yards. I believe he was sacked 5 times today and threw one pick (several others should have been). If there was EVER a time to bring in Chase it was today but they did not so all signs point to him redshirting.

It is a real shame because is all this defense needs is a smidge of offense.

Know I am being a downer, but we did have a BIG rb. Anyone ever hear why he is leaving?

Understandable, he was passed in the depth chart by a few guys. Wish the kid best of luck. Had he stuck it out, he would have gotten significant time this season with the injuries

Just a couple of positives from Bryant game. On the punt block, you could see Ferguson and i forget the other player for RMU talking for a moment before the snap, and then Ferguson blocked and took it in for TD. Really, Really well executed.

Also, Sunny Tapp seems like he is developing into another solid LB. RMU is Line Backer U FCS style, probably some leftover Bad Rad magic!

** Bryant had the worst crew calling the game, especially the color guy. I couldn't watch live and couldn't listen to Shov, but really a prime example of how our broadcast guys are the class of the NEC.

Was able to watch bits and pieces of the game, a couple things stood out.

1) Officials, now I know they don't determine the outcome of the game but the PI penalty on third and long in the fourth quarter on Drew Allen was just down right a bad call and lead to Bryant Points.

2) Defense, you just have to feel bad for these guys from Coaches to players. Force three turnovers and hold Bryant to 16 total rushing yards should be enough to get the job done.

3) Special teams, Finally a game with no blocked PAT or FG try's. Also another big Special Teams touchdown.

4) Offense, just not a good day at the office for this group. Looked like the took a step back in progression. I am still going to disagree with some here but I just don't see the separation from the WR and them being open. Its hard to run the ball when the other D isnt afraid of your passing attack and stacks the box with 8 to 9 men.

As a life long colonial supporter it was tough for me to imagine the offense worse under miller than it was hicks however we are averaging around 145 yards a game which is a whole 100 yards less than under hicks. I understand the 5th QB and playing alot of young guys but the facts are the facts the offense hasn't produced and it starts from the top down.

Watching this team this year reminds me a lot of the East Tennessee state team we played last year. They were entirely freshman and sophomores, and looking at our offense, it's the same way. And East Tennessee state had a huge jump this season. That's something I expect to see out of this squad next year

I agree tyblake2. I am optimistic about next season. Although, I surely wish this team would give us just a bit more of a reason for that optimism. Even bad teams usually can put together a good showing for one game during the season. This offense has not put together a good game, a good half or even a good quarter this season. I know, I am just a fan blowing off steam. But, doggone, I wish they could have given us some glimmer this season. Hopefully, we can grab a win in the final game to add a spark to the off season.
