After getting a win, the Colonials face a big challenge in South Dakota State. The Jackrabbits defeated FBS Kansas in their first game, last week easily defeated Southern Utah, and are ranked in the top 10 of FCS. The Colonials proved in the Youngstown State game that they have the ability to compete with a top tier FCS program. Let's get some conversation going. What do you expect from this game? What's the mood of the team? Are we hoping just that the Colonials can keep it competitive, or do you believe RMU has the ability to pull off an upset? Will Ram be healthy enough to play? Any other injury concerns? Can the Colonials get a passing game going against such a strong opponent, or will the running game have to carry the load?

SDSU's OL and DL's are not much bigger than RMU. So that could be an interesting match up. RMU must win the battle at the line of scrimmage for 4 quarters to have a chance on Saturday. SDSU can score quickly and average 48pts a game.
RMU's secondary will have their hands full with WR Jake Wieneke. (6-3, 205lbs Soph).
RMU's OL will be challenged in slowly down LB T.J. Lally and DT Cole Langer.

RMU must force turnovers and strike quickly on Saturday. This means that we have to finally see a passing game. We are still waiting for those big passing statistics from our offense.

I saw Owens after the game on Saturday and he was wearing a boot on his right foot but got the thumbs up. I would be shocked if Owens starts this week. I could see RMU use Blake/Satcher more at RB and get Owens healthy for NEC play.

I think they're gonna be in the game, we have all seen how great the defense is this season. They really need to establish a running game early so it doesn't get out of hand. That will open up the pass game and keep the defense off the field so they don't get worn down

I look forward to seeing RMU in Brookings on Saturday. Right now Jackrabbit fan expectations for the season are sky high. According to Massey Composite ratings, SDSU is ranked number one in the Country in the FCS. And according to Sagarin rankings, we are better than all but about 12 of the G5 FBS teams. We are in the process of rebuilding our stadium, it is half finished with the remainder to be done before next season. The stadium seats 17,000 this year and I would expect about 14,000 for this game. Weather should be perfect for football. Hope some of you make it to the game.

Next week we play our biggest rival, NDSU, but I am sure the team will not be looking past this week.

I didn't mean to shut down discussion. Just intended to give you a little background on the Rabbits.

I am expecting a very interesting game on Saturday.where we both learn more about our teams.
