With football season right around the corner only a few weeks away, just wanted to share some things I heard. Sounds like jimmy Masson will be back this season after a year off after all surgery, also sounds like gee Stanley will be back as well. There was some speculation about his eligibility with grades but it's looking like they have him back. With both of these guys back, plus returning ferguson, utahafe, and wollet, we may see a linebacker corps as strong as we did a couple years ago when stojkovic was a senior

Great news on all accounts. D will be really good again, better than last year I would think. Anyone know exact date that camp starts?

I believe he tore his acl the first day of spring ball and is gonna be out again this fall, the last I heard of him was in spring ball

What do you hear about Harrison Dreher - is he expected to be a RB or WR? Are the expectations that he can contribute significantly this year? Provide a spark to the offense or special teams?

I think we can expect a spark from Harrison dreher! Although he's a sophomore, he has never played a down of college football especially at the D1 level. Single A wpial football to D1AA rmu is a significant jump. Even with that being said, I expect him to have an impact on the offense this fall. I think he's gonna split some of the carries with cole Blake and I also think they're using Harrison out of the backfield a good bit as well! He will definitely get his fair share of reps this season. We don't have a lot of backs this year, only 3 maybe 4 but I would like to think they are all quality backs unlike years past where there was a drop off after the starter or 2nd team guy

Dreher is going to be great I think, from the little I hear, he is super hungry also. I am really looking forward to seeing him and rest of team this year, hopefully with a much more settled QB situation.

The key to this season is how far along the OL has come and it jimmy or Matt can provide some stability at the qb position. If one of those fails, it will be another long season

Agreed. D should be at the very least, really good. Could be special. O has be at least OK to good, if they are really good to great on O, the year has a ton of potential.

At the very least I see a small improvement in the offense. All 5 lineman from last season are back, fennell mundy and Rene are all sophomores now with a year under their belt and more strength than a year ago. Add on eric McAllister who is not only gonna start, but anchor that offensive line and I see an improvement there. I think rene mundy and McAllister are locked in starters. The other 2 spots are up for grabs with fennel out front for the tackle spot. Also, Matt was better 2 seasons ago than any quarterback was last fall. Not too mention he has a season under his belt that he played, but also a season of growth where he got to watch from the sideline and the box and learn a lot as well, that helps you grow as well. And if it happens to be jimmy that starts then you have 2 quality quarterbacks that can sling it and give you a downfield threat. Don't forget, as poor as this offense was last season, this team was still in every single conference game in the 4th quarter with the exception of Wagner and maybe Saint Francis. And that was without any sort of movement of the ball, I think there is a lot of reason for optimism this year

Totally agree. If the returning linemen, including McAllister, stay healthy, I think this team can take a big step up. If the OL has injuries, then we will be relaying on freshmen. Although we have some good freshmen linemen coming in, it will not be a good situation if we are starting multiple freshmen on the OL against the caliber of the competition. That is my biggest concern, otherwise, I am very optimistic about this season.

The Boys are back in town tomorrow morning. I'm looking forward to this teams development from last year and the added talent in a few key positions. Should be fun to see this play out and prepare to get started on a good note by BEATING DAYTON!!!

Beating Dayton would be such a significant start to the season. Dayton has really been a nemesis to the Colonials for so many years. Dayton always has a good and well coached team, but RMU should be capable of getting a win at home to signify the Colonials are ready to get back to being a winning program. Go Colonials!
