There seems to be a lot of excitement about this coming football season by RMU insiders, coaches, players and the serious fans. While these "insiders" are expecting to see improvement and progress by the team, the coaches in the NEC are not so optimistic about the Colonials' chances this year since RMU has been picked 6th out of 7 teams in the preseason poll. What don't the "outsiders" know, specifically, name some names of players you expect to take a big step up in performance this year. Who on the team is ready for a breakout year? Besides the change in the OC, there must be reasons there is an excitement around the team this year, tell us why you are optimistic for the Colonials.

So I think Ryan Lewis is set to have a good year. He is a confidence kid and fairly upbeat. Receives coaching well from Coach Coleman so that's my first pick. Another DL pick is Zamiska he could have some impact. Looked ok in spots last yr. Lamica has to be big in this pro style offense blocking and receiving...think Heath Miller. I believe whom ever the Starting QB is will have a RMU Career year. Not really much to beat to have a career year for any of them so Great Year for whom ever wins the job.

Incoming freshman will obviously be standouts at OL because one or two maybe three will have a chance to start or be heavy contributors. I like this OL Class a lot. Also a lot of skill in the incoming class that adds wiggle and speed. Two or three there could have huge impact on special teams.

I know very little about the O-linemen, but I do know that Blake Chambliss has size and experience. The fact that Coach Banny took him to the NEC media day indicates to me that he is a leader, and that the coaching staff has high expectations for him. He may not have been picked for the preseason all-conference team, but he may be on the end of season all-conference team.

I think Sam woods will have a breakout season at running back as well, and I also think Lamica will break out as well. There was a few games and catches he made last year that nobody else could make but then he would drop easy passes in his numbers or hands. I think this season he breaks out under the new offense, miller will utilize him the right way. On defense, I think Ryan Lewis is gonna light it up, the whole defensive line actually I feel is going to be great again, and with the whole secondary back, the defense will be at the top of FBS once again
