Off Season Strength & Conditioning

RMU S&C gives out weekly Virtue of the Week (VOW) awards. Last week it went to Matt Barr for commitment, and this week it went to Andrew Romanchak for courage. It will be interesting to see if these two former QBs will be listed as WR again this year and if they get much playing time next season at that position or whatever position they play.

A few weeks ago the VOW went to another WR, Delano Madison, for tenacity.

Anyone have anything to share about the offseason workouts?

NEC ROAD GAMES: Bryant, Duquesne, Sacred Heart
NEC HOME GAMES: CCSU, St. Francis, Wagner

Huge win over LIU

96-82 win over LIU breaks the four-game losing streak.

Ugly game. Way too many fouls called by the refs. Just non-stop whistles. RMU actually played well defensively until the fouls began to mount. Coalman and Gombe fouled out. Leondre didn't play for some reason. So Seth Rouse had to play a little in the second half.

Dachon and Matty were awesome. Dachon had 29, Matty had 23. Both were active and engaged on D.

Weird game but hopefully this got the guys out of their funk and they finish strong. Four games left until the NEC tourney and a lot still at stake.

MBB @ SFNY

I've had a good feeling this week going in to tonight's game with SF. Kenpom has RMU at 222 after our recent slide, and SFNY at an ugly 296. Just a few games ago we were tied atop the NEC with Wagner, which is currently sitting at 136. Stick with the plan fellas even through adversity and you'll get a needed win.

MBBall - SFPA Thurs 1/11 7:00pm

Another big game for the guys tomorrow. SFU is 3-1 in NEC and was the preseason favorite. They lost at CCSU, beat Bryant on the road and LIU and SFBK at home. So there are some common opponents.

Hopefully the guys can improve FTs, continue to play excellent team defense, and just work hard.

Massey Info:
Ratings:
RMU: 171 (Duq 170, LaSalle 172)
SFUPA: 202 (Monmouth 201, Texas St 202)

Prediction:
Massey gives RMU a 65% chance to win, 79 to 75

My worthless prediction:
RMU comes out on fire, and runs it whistle to whistle, I think Coalman sets a career high with 12 pts. RMU 73 - 62.

MBBall - Long Island Saturday 1/6 4:00pm

After the "at least they won" game against SFBK, the guys have another "home" game at PPG Saturday.

LIU is 1-2 in conference, and just got beat by SFPA. Need to win the home games, and that was mentioned in the other thread, FTs need to improve quickly. The guys played tough, and Bain is looking good, I imagine he will get some more minutes, and Gombe continues to play well down low.

Massey Information:
Rankings
RMU 185
LIU 289

Prediction:
Massey gives RMU a 79% chance to win, with a predicted score of 75-67.

My worthless prediction is a BIG win for RMU. 74-52 with the D clamping down.

GO BOBBY MO

MBBall vs SFBK 1/4 @ 7:00pm

What a start for the guys!! 2-0 in conference, both on road. I figured they would beat Bryant, but thought CCSU would have been close, but the D destroyed the Devil's will. Amazing what great team d can do. Game is at Palumbo and on necfrontrow!

SF is 2-0 in NEC beating SHU and Wagner.

Massey info:
Ratings:
RMU - 183 (Mercer 182, FLGC 184)
SFBK - 295 (Charleston southern 294, TAMCC 296)

Massey score prediction:
RMU 74 SF 63. RMU 83% chance to win.

My worthless prediction:
RMU 71 SF 60.

Can't let the success go to head, have to grind on D and work for open shot on O. As long as the guys listen to Toole, I think they will get the W.
