A high profile BCS transfer is visiting Robert Morris today. We're not far from kickoff as Robert Morris hosts Central Connecticut State, and on the sideline is former Penn State quarterback Paul Jones.

Jones is exploring his next option while finishing up this semester at Penn State. He announced his decision to transfer several weeks ago, and if he drops down to the FCS level, he'd have two years of eligibility remaining.

Jones is close to former RMU linebacker Alex DiMichele, who is helping out the defensive staff this year. He's also close with a number of other current players, including Nolan Nearhoof.

The former Sto-Rox High School QB is reportedly interested in RMU because of the proximity to home and desire to play ASAP. He'd walk into a situation with an open QB job following Jeff Sinclair's graduation. Right now, the in-house candidates are sophomore Matt Layman, who has three career starts, and freshman Derik Abbott.

ColonialsCorner learned Jones has a couple of FCS options, but may explore his other options with BCS level schools as well.

As always, stick around ColonialsCorner for more as this develops.
