Wow, this was unexpected. I fully expected any changes to come after a school left (like RMU) or a move from another D1 conference.
Wonder if this is the only move or if another shoe is about to drop.
Besides the obvious speculation that has surrounded RMU, I know Bryant has supposedly investigated upgrading its programs to maybe fit in the CAA. And back when Monmouth and Quinnipiac left for the MAAC, there was buzz about Wagner doing the same. Maybe Wagner is thinking about it againPerhaps this was a move prior to an announcement maybe to come down the road. I could see a program leaving the NEC soon.
Removes leverage, but it could also make the NEC less paranoid and more amenable to an agreement.2 new football programs recently removes a lot of leverage that RMU had regarding football if a conference change is made for the Colonials. Think only fairly viable options appear to be Ohio valley or Big south like Monmouth did.

Absolutely. Let's face it, five non-conference games is really tough for a school like RMU to schedule.I agree with this...no more DIIs on the schedule.
