With basketball season now over, we're only about a week away from the start of spring ball. I can't wait to see what the new kids on campus look like, jimmy walker and Izon pulley. There looks to be so much more competition this year than it the past few. We are thin on OL until the 7-8 commits arrive this summer. Pretty sure there is only 6 returning. Other than that, I can't wait to see what the group looks like. I'm also anxious to see what the depth chart looks like coming into the spring as well. Especially on offense I think almost every position is up for grabs this fall

Ty,
Can't think of many locks at any position on O. Would think that some of the returning OL have best shot, as they have had a year in system/weight room to improve but I would not be surprised to see at least 1, maybe 2 freshman starting at OL.

I am also anxious to see how that WR from UVA does. Does anyone have an update on his condition? Will he be able to participate in spring ball?

The position I, and probably most of us, are most interested in seeing is QB. Seems like the Colonials finally have some good depth there. Will one guy be head and shoulders above the others? Or will it be a close race?

Cole Blake will be able to go but will have a no contact jersey on until August.

It will be exciting to hear about the new players especially on offense.

The numbers will be low heading into Spring so don't expect a lot of 11v11.

Has a new assistant been hired? RMU had posted a position for an assistant football coach after Myles Russ departed. That job is no longer posted, however there is a position open for Director of Football Operations.

The new running backs coach is Larod Stephens-howling. Former running back at Pitt and for the Arizona cardinals under coach Miller

Tanner Schultheis also left the program which is why there is an opening for Director of Football Operations.

As a player, I believe, LaRod was very much an overachiever. At 5'7" you have to be an extremely dedicated athlete to be able to spend time in the NFL. Could be the makings of a great coach. Can only be helpful for recruiting to have another NFL guy as a coach. Welcome LaRod. Go Colonials!

LaRod helped and was around last spring but rmu didn't have a paid position for him so he went back and assisted at Pitt in the fall. Now that Russ is gone, rmu was able to bring
Him back as the RB coach
