  • SFU used big plays and scored on their 1st two possessions. Chances were there for RMU but couldn't do anything with the ball in terms of scoring.
  • 13 total offense series for RMU on the day. 10 out of the 13 series started with a run on 1st down. We need to see as better mix of pass/run on 1st down. On 2nd downs, RMU also ran the ball 11 out of the 13. RMU took the opening possession. 3 straight runs and a punt against a defense that was stacking the box. It's like the coaching staff is even afraid to call a passing play.
  • Barr does not look healthy to me. I'm starting to question if the coaching staff made a mistake with thrusting Barr into the starting lineup. It's very easy to fall for his size and arm but it's a lot of pressure on the young man. It's too late now but perhaps a redshirt and letting him learn from Abbott playing could have been the best for his career and this program.
  • Cole Blake and this OL shows that they ran run the ball against anyone but this offense is one dimensional.
  • Cut backs really hurt the RMU D on Saturday. SFU's RBs had great vision and some missed tackles resulted in big gains.
Can't believe the NEC Championship game is in Pittsburgh next week and it's doesn't involve RMU.
Saint Francis @ Duquesne to determine NEC champ and FCS bid!!!

Being shut out against anyone in the NEC is inexcusable. RMU should be a least putting some points on the board. Losing 21-0 is a shame.

Go Bobby Mo

WOW. I surely don't blame the defense. Especially considering for the past two years the Defensive unit is the only thing that has keep the teams in any games. I agree that this past game they looked a little flat, but if I had to sit there and watch the pathetic offense preform game after game .......( and they really don't get to sit and watch due to the offense not being on the field very long) I would be less inclined to hustle to the ball play after play. My issues are all pertaining to the offense and the way personal have been used. Specifically at 1) QB position ( would have liked for Smigiera to try as QB) Barr may someday become a QB, but as a freshman no way 2. Nic Lamica is so much better suited for the defensive side of the ball as was Thermil last year. Lamica's talent is being wasted at WR with only 13 catches this year. One positive thought though I was glad to see the scraping of the "hurry up" (and wait while staring at the sideline ) offense" was scraped. It served no benefit for a number of reasons. the opposing defenses were not pressured and could substitute against it, and they also had great pre snap reads because the formation was shown way before the actual snap of the ball. FCS rankings: RMU Defense 23 out of 123
RMU Offense 117 out of 123
With all that said (probably way to much) Good Luck next week and next year.
