Well we lost by about thirty but scored over 60 points at least.
Would we have done better if this game would have been in a couple weeks? Probably.
Would we have done better with the experience & skill of Dachon Burke? Probably.
But at least this team got a tough test before playing any other team. RMU should be more prepared for their game Monday @ Grand Canyon & Wednesday @ San Diego.

After two exhibition games and now in the season opener against a high level opponent Matty is proving that his shooting is much more consistent than in the past, and that he has the ability to score against any opponent. Kobe looks as though he is going to make a huge impact this year on the boards, on defense and scoring. Getting Dachon back is going to significantly lift this team. He will add experience, athleticism, defense and scoring. He worked on becoming a more consistent shooter in the off-season, and I think that will payoff. It was a rough night for our big guys against Ohio State, but that is typical when an NEC team plays a high level program. For most of our bigs, this was the first taste of D-1 action. I think we will see much improvement out of them as the season progresses and they will be well ready when Conference play starts. The benefit of being a fan of an NEC team is that your team can lose a game by 31, and you can still be optimistic about the season.

Right & if this game was played in late December & we still lost by 31, I'd be more concerned. We got some time to figure things out and improve.
We will need some freshmen to score besides Koby Thomas & they will be gaining more confidence shortly.
What we've seen from Matty is very positive.
3rd 20+ point game of the year if you count the exhibitions. Hope he keeps it up!
Koby looked great, and Matty looks like he'll be consistently awesome. Good signs. We wont know a lot about this team until mid-December, but those two guys showed a lot of positive signs.
