Robert Morris took care of business in the first round of the NEC tournament. After defeating Wagner just six days ago, the Seahawks rolled back into the Sewall Center for the quarterfinals. Similar to that game, Robert Morris won 91-68. Some thoughts:

-Lucky Jones tied a career high with 27 points on 8-12 shooting. The senior was excellent, converting on five of his six three's while hitting some tough shots. While RMU was leading comfortably for most of the game, Wagner made things uncomfortable in the second half by cutting RMU's lead to 9. That's when Jones made his mark, hitting the next three shots, all from three, to help put the game away. When the going got a little tough, Jones settled things down the way seniors are supposed to.

-Marcquise Reed, Rodney Pryor, and Kavon Stewart all scored in double digits for Robert Morris. Reed started the game off like a bat out of hell. He was attacking the rim and hunted for his shot at the three point line. His aggressiveness paced RMU early. Pryor did a good job with his floor spacing today, never really taking any tough shots. He went 2-4 from three. As a team, Robert Morris went 12-20 from beyond the arc.

-Kavon has really played some under control ball recently. Even more encouraging than that is his jump shooting. he's looked more comfortable taking more mid-range and three point shots off the dribble. He also went 1-3 from three today. If he can continue to extend his game like that ever so slightly, he'll become a nightmare matchup.

-Stephan Bennett with his best game in a while! The center finished with 8 points on 4-7 shooting and went up strong to the rim in the opportunities he had.

-Robert Morris didn't have their best defensive game, but it was enough to get buy. Overall, they held Wagner to 41.4 percent from the field and 3-13 from three. Again, RMU did a good job limiting guard Marcus Burton. He finished with 19 points on 7-17 shooting. Most of the damage he did came late in the game when things were out of reach.

-I didn't really think Wagner had the hottest gameplan going into this one. instead of trying to ignite Burton, they decided to toss it down low and try and pound away. Center Mike Aaman had a nice day with 19 points and eight rebounds, but there wasn't a whole lot of other production besides him. In fact, RMU did a better job on the glass in this game than last one.

-Conrad Stephens got to play again today! That was exciting. He and Andre Frederick joined club trill with their one minute of action.

-RMU will be taking on Bryant at home Saturday. Game time is set for noon. Bryant is coming off a double OT winner against Sacred Heart. All in all, that's a pretty nice matchup for RMU. They're playing a team with a short bench coming off an emotional double OT win.

Not much more needs to said here. Nice win, but one RMU should have gotten. Wagner does not have the perimeter to match Robert Morris. Not to mention, if Lucky Jones plays that well, nobody in the NEC is going to hang with Bobby Mo. Luck was on fire.

Big game Saturday at the chuck. I like the match-up (opposed to SFPA, who RMU would have played if Sacred Heart won). Hopefully the guys bring it on the defensive end. Bryant has really exploited the Colonials D in the two prior games.

Two more wins guys! Lets do it.

You cant be serious about Benntt going to the hoop strong. One time he should have 2 handed it in someones face and he went under the hoop and almost missed a layup. He needs to play much stronger and much more aggressive for this team to reach the tourney

Well... strong for his standards. Pretty much when he goes up and doesn't get blocked or have the ball knocked out of his hands that's "strong" for him. He really hasn't played that bad recently.
