Anyone who votes for the A-10 is not living in the real world.

We got votes all across the board.

I didn't vote for the A-10 btw...I voted MAAC. What u vote??

Also, as to the A-10, are u saying RMU couldn't be competitive there or they wouldn't let us in?? (Cuz I think it could be both).

I voted for the Patriot League, however that may be a long shot to get into also.

In regard to the A-10, I meant that the conference would not let RMU in. If RMU had the fan base, and was interested in joining an A-10 level conference, the new arena should provide for 8 to 10 thousand seats, and an ability to fill it occasionally.

I doubt A10 would take RMU, but if I was in the admin I would at least try like hell to get invite. If they don't, then fine.

When the Patriot league was mentioned, at first I laughed to myself. Many of those schools and their fans have a very high view of their academics, and in a majority of the schools I supposed they are right. RMU's academic profile is improving greatly, but would the PL members think it is high enough to join their club? That would be the only reason I can think to keep RMU out. They would be a bit of an outlier, but travel would be easier than NEC I think for RMU. I think it would be great for RMU to be admitted to the PL, and would cover a lot the sports, maybe all of them other than hockey but they seem to have great current homes for hockey. Although I agree with ORMC that bball and probably hockey are now the premier sports at RMU, I am football first, and the PL would be great for football, really really great in my opinion.

All of the above rambling, led me to vote for the PL. Best possible overall fit for the school, though I think academics might keep them out.

LetsGoRoMo I agree with your comments. The Patriot League would be a major boost to RMU in regard to academic image. I suspect those schools take into account more than just sports when looking to admit a new member into their league. In the past I would have said RMU had little or no chance of being admitted, but President Chris Howard may be able to get it done.

Currently the poll #'s are.

-4 for the MAAC.
-2 to the CAA
-2 for the Patriot League
-& 1 for the A-10 & 1 for the Horizon.

I think the MAAC, CAA, & Patriot League are our best options rn (obviously Pat league depends if they let in RMU academically).

**Although...If Valpo leaves the Horizon League cause Wichita St goes to the AAC, it could be a ripple effect. -Not to mention that it would be easier for RMU to compete in there w/out Valpo, they'd have an wide open spot, & the RPI for the Horizon would still stay fine.

Thoughts?? #GoRMU

Horizon fits geographically but there are a lot of other factors, football again being the big question. We'll see though. Im sure the Horizon League would move quickly if Valpo does indeed leave.
