Onto the offseason

Nice article.

Congrats on predicting how good the team would be this year. Wish they would have done better than what u said lol.

To point out something I did call right tho on you & Capella is on Jordan Lester. You guys thought he'd be a contributer this year but I called that he wouldn't be used as Clive & the new guys took his role. I was right! He went away completely just after a few games!

I think he'll try to transfer...

Lol.

Go RMU

Congrats to Mount St Mary on winning the NEC. The Mount was the best team in the Conference this year, however there really was very little difference in the quality of teams from top to bottom. RMU may have been tied for 5th at the end of the regular season, and seeded 7th in the tournament, but played three very close games with the Mount this year. Just a marginal amount of improvement next season could put the Colonials at the top of the Conference. Just to echo some of the comments already made, hopefully, this team stays intact, if so, not only is there hope for winning the Conference next season, but also, being competitive against some of the higher level opponents that will likely be faced in the nonconference part of the schedule.

Yep...always good to be able to compete against ur better opponents in the OOC slate of games.

RMU certainly has a chance to be legit good next year.

Go RMU

To echo GoRMU, there is a lot of reason for optimism. Again, PG is really the biggest concern that I have for the team going into next year, but I am confident Toole will find someone to come in and compete. As has been mentioned here or on CTC, a JUCO PG would probably be a nice addition.

One thing to keep in mind, at least a few of the teams in conference should also improve. SFU is a pretty young team also and will be bringing back a lot of best players.

Mount is also very young. Next season Long is a JR, Robinson a SR, Wilson a Soph, Alexander a SR, on and on. They only currently have 1 SR and played only 8 mins a game.

Just as a side note, as I watched the Mount SFU game last night, I thought that Mount probably has the best current Arena in the NEC. We all know RMU will have the best in a couple years, and by a big margin. I think a great facility, with a great coach/recruiter, will have the upper hand.

Also, Mount, SFU and RMU are kind of outliers in the NEC footprint. If things do change conference wise in the future, I think it would be great if Mount came along with RMU.

Next season could be a banner year in the NEC. So much of the leagues top talent were freshmen or sophomore's. While the league has been killed by transfers in the past, I don't see that happening this time around. Maybe a few grad transfers, but none are Rodney Pryor good. There aren't any Cane Broome's or Marcquise Reed level players either.

MSM, FDU, SFPA all return basically everyone, RMU and Bryant have a ton back, and SHU should be very good. WAG and LIU will look to rebuild after losing some good seniors, but that's about the only two teams that will be effected in a major way by departures.

For decades I have been expecting the NEC to take a step up "next season." At this point in the year it always looks as though it will happen - next year. If RMU can take a step up, the Colonials will be in a good position.

Yep.

Could get off the 16 seed line too.
