Over the course of Robert Morris' 20 seasons of football, the Colonials have made it at a habit to mine certain states for talent. Along with an attempt to bring in as many Pennsylvania and Ohio players as possible, Robert Morris has had a consistent presence in Maryland, New York, Florida and Michigan.

Sometimes their presence in those states ebbs and flows. But right now, RMU's presence in Florida, Western New York and Michigan are at a high. Robert Morris will have eight players on the roster from Michigan in August, and they're back in the state hunting for more for 2015.

A couple of names on the radar for RMU so far:
DE Lonnie Barnes (6'3, 256 - Kennedy High / Taylor) - HIGHLIGHTS
Barnes was used as a tight end, defensive end and occasional rush linebacker for Kennedy. The team struggled to a winless season, but Barnes has been able to pick up some interest despite the team's issues. Barnes has heard from Robert Morris recently and will get a chance to connect with the RMU staff again later this summer. Along with an invite to Akron's football camp, Barnes will camp at Pitt, where RMU has an annual presence.

RB James Hill (6'1, 215 - Clarenceville High / Livonia) - HIGHLIGHTS
Hill had 700-plus all-purpose yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior as Livonia went 12-1. Hill is a more physical, upright back who can be tough to bring down in space. He's generated a decent amount of interest from colleges, including Michigan and Michigan State, but no offers.

OL/DL Marc Miller (6'3, 252 - Brother Rice / Grand Rapids) - HIGHLIGHTS
Robert Morris picked up its first Brother Rice player in fullback Austin Brown in the 2014 class. Brother Rice is a Michigan powerhouse, so it always generates a number of potential Division I players. Miller appears to be a potential fit along the defensive line (likely defensive tackle) than on the offensive line. He has an offer from Cornell, interest from a number of MAC schools and other Ivy and Patriot League schools.

ColonialsCorner will continue to keep you posted on any recruiting news.
