Stage one complete!Take down Mount, Wagner and then SFPA then go dancing. Who's ready!
Stage one complete!
What a win. Held Mount to 2 points in first eight minutes, 21 total in the half. Dachon Burke with the block and dunk at the end. Basically an eight man rotation that included Seth Rouse knocked off RMU's chief rival on the road - oh, and St. Francis PA lost, too.
So RMU's main rivals are out in the quarterfinals and Bobby Mo is off to the semifinals. Huge, huge, huge.
Did you notice Matty's blind over the head toss to send Dachon for the dunk? At least that's what I thought I saw in the hectic last few seconds.Dachon absolutely should have been named to the first team all NEC team, not second team. How sweet that he capped off the game by blocking the shot of the NEC MVP and then getting the ball for a slam as the game ended.

That was just an amazing sequence with the block from behind, the quick toss out and finishing with the dunk to end the game
Also, did you notice with 2:46 to go in the game, Matty took a nice pass from Jon and finished with a two-handed dunk. The Colonials have some great dunkers, but we do not often see Matty making a dunk.
Yeah I saw Matty drop it through. It happened quick. I remember another at PPG. Glad to see him finishing much stronger around the hoop. He got stuffed a lot in there prior to this year. Driving layups are going for him too. Spell checker always wants to change to Marty!
The last time we played Wagner we had a 10 point lead at the half and ended up losing by 13. That second half started a downhill slide for the Colonials.
We need to play 40 minutes the way we played the first 20 in that last game. Go Colonials!
Wagner has not lost at home. 15-0.Very true!
Has Wagner lost yet at home tho?
If not, it's time to change that.
RMU is a wildcard. They can beat anyone in the conference on any court if they play like they did in then second half on Wednesday. But then there is the team that played first half too...
Maybe it was an okay first half, until the 16-0 run messed it up. Same keys for me: stick with the plan regardless of score, take good shots, take care of the ball, drive, defend. They played ok in the first half until the last 5-7 minutes or so...
Still, gotta put up more points on offense!
Minimum of 60 needed to beat Wagner but probably more. Maybe 70.
It can be done but RMU has to get off to a better start at the Spiro Center this time around.
Let's do it #RMCMB

Down 10 at the half. Sound familiar? Tough place to put yourself. Having problems with Wagner's pressure. Too many of the 8 turnovers were unforced. Let's see what happens.
If this group comes back, look out. I think guys just getting another year older, a little more mature, and a little stronger in the weight room could be huge.
I wonder about Petteway. It's a bit strange he hasn't been on the bench and the nature of his injury has been so quiet. Hopefully he's okay.Plus Hopefully Petteway comes back healthy & we add Redshirt Junior G from Akron Josh Williams who is supposed to be a good player.

From what I hear, Josh Williams will be best shooter on team next year. Likely thetjuco pg and Washington will not be with team next year so at least 2 school's there. Who knows who else. I really hope Coalman and Bain stick around. I see a bright future for both of them. Burke and koby obviously huge to stay.
If they keep all them with the Williams Bros and Matty that would be great.
Sidenote, would love to see rouse get a ride.
