What a start for the guys!! 2-0 in conference, both on road. I figured they would beat Bryant, but thought CCSU would have been close, but the D destroyed the Devil's will. Amazing what great team d can do. Game is at Palumbo and on necfrontrow!

SF is 2-0 in NEC beating SHU and Wagner.

Massey info:
Ratings:
RMU - 183 (Mercer 182, FLGC 184)
SFBK - 295 (Charleston southern 294, TAMCC 296)

Massey score prediction:
RMU 74 SF 63. RMU 83% chance to win.

My worthless prediction:
RMU 71 SF 60.

Can't let the success go to head, have to grind on D and work for open shot on O. As long as the guys listen to Toole, I think they will get the W.

Nice to see that we're climbing in the rankings...

Also, if we win this game, regardless of what happens in the league, we take 1st place in the NEC as St. Francis BK is tied with us at 2-0.

Need this win! Gotta play with energy, smarts, & hit some 3's!

RMU fans...let's show up & cheer on this team! Game tomorrow night is at the Palumbo in pgh.

Anyone know for The Palumbo is the price the same at the gate as it is online? Online price is $10 per ticket for General Admission (GA).

Thanks

Not sure on that. I would guess yes, but give the RMU ticket office a call, they will help you out.

Remember the Pens play a block away at the same time, so plan accordingly. A pregame reception for all season ticket holders & other RMU devotees would be a nice gesture for fighting crowds and supporting the team.

Ya is Pens at 7pm too?

Gotta make sure to arrive early then.

Very poor effort trying to close out the waning seconds of regulation, then quickly falling behind by 3 early in OT. However the boys shook it off and both teams were incredible during the extra session. Very entertaining game and happy to win.

Toole said it was his fault for calling the long pass just before the game-tying 3. Said he should have called a play that forced SFNY to foul.

Also had updates on Xavier Williams and Malik Petteway. Williams likely won't play this season due to his fractured leg.

And sounds like Petteway still isn't healthy despite coming back last Saturday. Must have reaggravated his injury.

If that long pass came from the coach I agree with his post game assessment of it.

Insane, crazy etc...ending! Was at the game & all of the RMU fans were sick after that Senabria 3 went in at the buzzer (how could u not be).

We're lucky to have won! Extra glad we won after how annoying the SFBK fans & coaches were.

We played like dog poop, and blew the game....and won. Matty and Dachon really stepped up despite poor starts on the offensive end. Dachon was held scoreless in the first half, but willed his team down the stretch and hit some huge buckets late. He finished with 17 points.

Matty is such a winner man! He does so many small things well that add up. Grit, toughness, clutch, smart. He's all of it. He isn't scared to attack the rim. Even late in the OT session, after SFBK took the two point lead, he grab the inbound, raced down the court and went right into attack mode. A lot of guys (including a few on the floor for RMU) would have been still thinking about just giving up the lead. Also, while Andy certainly messed up that end of game play, GREAT call letting McConnell attack after the made bucket, instead of calling a TO.

Lastly, I can live with turnovers. This is a young young team that plays aggressive and has a ton of freshmen and sophomores that handle the ball. It's part of that equation. BUT, GOTTA MAKE THE FT'S! 23 of 39 on the night (a lovely 59 percent), and the team percentage dipped to 65 percent on the season.Thats "good" for 316th in the country. Not only could that (and should have last night) cost RMU wins, but it could be the difference in making a deep NEC tournament run, or going home.

We still need 3 key things:

1. More Free Throws made/higher %

2. Less TO's- some of them were really bad. & 3-4 of them were not being able to inbound the ball!

3. More focus & energy from the start of the game. For 3 straight games (at least), we've struggled to come out strong in the beginning/first half (even). For the CCSU game, we did go to the half with a ten point lead, but the start was still not that good.

Final thought: This team can certainly win the NEC & is fortunately in first place (@ 3-0 rn) but must improve on the things I listed above to have a better shot at making the NCAA Tourney.

Ultimately to improve, FT's is huge & prob most important right now but also Toole just wants more focus & enegery for a full 40 minutes ( & OT if it happens). If those two things happen, TO's should go down as well, especially the really weak ones that can decide a game.

Their coach was bellowing "box out" while we were shooting all night, even on the first of two free throws. Koby was way off his game and somehow still ending up with 16 & 12.

Yup, noted that on twitter tonight. He competes so hard on both ends, and I love his fearlessness attacking the rim. A lot of guys shy away from contact when they are off from the line. He kept attacking, and drew a bunch of fouls. Thomas is a complete stud.

Yep...great rebounder too. Sky's really high for the ball at 6-5 or 6-6. Great recruit by Toole.
