I wonder if RMU can petition to get him another year. Obviously he played too much last year to get a redshirt, but I was looking back and I don't think he played as a freshman in junior college. He's only 21.

He's just playing so well that it'd be such a lift to get him back for another year next season. He may up an All-NEC player with the way he's playing.

That would be good if its possible, though they've already signed an inside player for next year and could use another scorer. He's a solid big man for the NEC.

Lot can happen between now and signing day, but it would definitely seem more likely that he'll graduate. Just wonder if there's a chance they'll pursue an extra year or if it's out of the question.

It seems to me that the NCAA has been quite lenient in approving red-shirts in recent years. I realize that by letter of the rule, Malik should not qualify, but he is a guy who missed more than half the season, including the conference season due to a legitimate health issue. I would not be surprised if he applies for an extra year that he could get it approved. On the other hand, he may want to leave and take a shot at turning pro and playing overseas.

Ya I think he’s got a decent shot maybe 30-50% of getting another year.

Whether he would use it (or grad transfer) or go pro...idk. Although he does seem to like RMU & the new arena should be opening too.
