I hope I’m the only thinking this but he is the next young great RMU player to try to transfer to a bigger school next season?

The A10 is not a fit because it doesn't work for any sport beyond basketball.Ormc and hoops are both right. I know a lot of us saw what dburke could be, but he is doing even better than I thought this year.
Thomas is an absolute beast, only one really tough game so far. They are absolutely loaded and the guys listen to coach. Wait till Williams brother is in mix next year if everyone else hangs. So important for them to get into a better conference. Wish they could go A10, would be huge and I think they could hang as currently constructed.
Should add the horizon is not what it once was, A10 would be perfect and could be traveling partners with Duq. CAA would be second choice, and as ormc mentioned in another thread, so important to get football moving in rights direction!
CI, thanks for info.
Edit: for clarification CI, do you mean 8-10k more seats for football in CAA?
No, an expansion to 8-10k seats. Rhode Island is the smallest stadium at 6500 and there's talk the CAA is pressuring the school to expand to at least 8000 to match the other schools. But URI hasn't committed to anything.CI, thanks for info.

I don't think so. A couple things about Koby Thomas that make him different:
- He's been praised for his maturity. Not a description you'd use for guys like Marcquise Reed or Isaiah Still.
- He was an early signee, so he's been attached to the program for a long time and had his chances to be swayed by other schools.
- He's not only a believer in Andy Toole, but he's close with Kyle Griffin, who I personally would support as RMU's next coach if Toole ever leaves.
He's a hardened Philly kid. Those guys tend to stick it out.
We'll see, of course. And given all the movement the past few years, skepticism is warrant. But I expect Thomas to stick. A transfer or two is inevitable in college hoops, but I think Toole and his staff tried to recruit guys with different mentalities this time around.
I would be surprised if Thomas left after one season. A few reasons. One, as noted above, he has a very strong connection to Toole and Griffin. As noted, he could have left as his stocked really took off his senior season but stayed with RMU.
Two: He has an even stronger connection with Dachon Burke. With this tight nit group, it would be surprising if it broke apart. I wouldn't blame anyone for being skeptical after the past few years, but I've heard this team is different. Not to mention a brand new state of the art arena on the way. We'll see how things play out with on court success, but I wouldn't worry too much about it at the moment.
