Jakari Spence

@RealJakaris

I appreciate each program who invested their time and interest into me. That being said, after talking it over with my family I have decided to continue my academic and athletic career at Robert Morris University

Jakari seems to be an under the radar recruit, he is not included on Verbal Commits or other such recruiting websites. That makes me wonder is he will be a preferred walk-on as opposed to a scholarship player. From videos it looks as though he has a really nice jump shot and good all around basketball talent and skills.

Jakari averaged 21.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 2.3 steals this past season. Nice stats!

Not much recruiting info on him. He holds his school's all time point record. I wonder if he is a replacement for Trayden Williams? Otherwise the roster is overloaded with point guards, although I expect Farris and others listed as PG will do great playing off the ball.

I am GUESSING he will be preferred walk on. RMU had five spots, filled four of them, and he would be the fifth, but I ahve seen them connected to a few other 2020 class prospects (not to mention they could really use another forward/big). We shall see.

Your guess very well may be correct. If he is a pwo, he would appear to be a higher quality pwo than RMU typically has had in the past. Of course, Treadwell Lewis will always be one of my favorite players.

With Tyson Brown being officially announced as signed, it is another indication that Jakari is a preferred walk-on. If Jakari were a scholarship recruit, likely RMU would have included him on the same announcement with Tyson. I don't believe RMU ever announces walk-on players. Regardless, Jakari looks to be a high quality pwo for the Colonials who adds to the depth. It never hurts to have an extra player on the roster that can knock down 3s.
