George Martin/Caleb Lewis

Anyone know why Caleb Lewis got the start at VMI today? George Martin is in uniform on the sideline, but he's just holding a clipboard. Lewis has played every snap.

It's worked out okay - RMU is up 21-8 at the half thanks to a great defensive performance and timely touchdowns. But very strange after Martin played so well last week.

No clue. Perhaps Caleb outperformed him this week? Maybe George is dinged? Nice win. D still gave up a ton of yards. I like the fact that we can run the ball. Nice Thunder and Lightening combo of Stephens and Jackson.

Well, whatever the case, Lewis acquitted himself well. Took a couple shots down field but mostly kept it shorter. Interception was a bad throw but other than that good stuff.

Running game was outstanding. The line looked good for the second game in a row.

And the defense gave up yards but stiffened when it had to. VMI also had the ball a lot more, but they missed some opportunities because the D held VMI to field goal chances. Also forced two fumbles.
