According to DT Pitt from the Pitt rivals boards, Dachon carried his undermanned squad (to OT I believe) and scored a whopping 40 points!

With him, Lorenzen Wright Jr., and Clive Allen all coming in, the backcourt should be much improved this year and for the future as well.

Go RMU...

At this point, I would rate Dachon as the top player among the RMU newcomers. He is extremely active, quick, talented and can make shots, something we desperately need. Wright has a nice looking outside shot, but seems to be streaky. We need him to hit 40% of his 3 point attempts, he has to become more consistent, and do more than just take outside shots when he touches the ball. Clive looks to be a good prospect in the backcourt. Up front, I think Braden Burke has tremendous potential and will contribute well as a freshmen. Roberto will get a lot of playing time this coming season. He does not appear to be a true 6'8" and his offensive skills are limited, but he will get rebounds and if he learns from Aaron to play within the system he will contribute. David Cole has a big body that makes him look more like a football player. He should develop into a really good Northeast Conference type big man. Aaron Tate looks to be healthy and fit. Other than Dachon, none of the RMU players (veterans and newcomers) have put up very impressive stats. A couple of other items; walk-on Nate Johnson has looked impressive, and Matty has not played due to still rehabbing from shoulder surgery. If RMU is to be successful this coming year: the players have to come together as a team and be very coachable, and a couple of guys need to consistently make a high percentage of outside shots. There is no Velton, Karvel or Rodney, these players need to be a team and also follow the game plans provided by their coaches.

Good notes...

Also, don't forget about Isaiah Still, who could have a big role this year and will definitely help score the ball.

In one of Tuesday's semi-final games, Dachon had 15 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. He is definitely a quality player that will contribute immediately for the Colonials. Also, another good outing for Nate Johnson with 12 points and 3 assists. Nate should no longer be viewed as a walk-on that only contributes in practice. He looks to be a guy who can compete for playing time with the scholarship players. Dachon and Nate were the only two Colonials that played Tuesday night.

Yea I was there as well...

D. Burke definitely played well and contributed and Nate J. distributed the ball well as the teams starting PG...

Two solid players

Dachon Burke had 23 points for the winning team in the final game of the summer league. Clive Allen had 9 points for the losing team. It was a high scoring game, 133-124.
When the Colonials start practice in the fall there should be good competition at each position. Hopefully the veteran players will provide good leadership and a few players will step up their games to be reliable, consistent scorers and defenders. This starts the only time of the year when D-1 basketball players get to take a few weeks off and spend some time at home. I hope all of the Colonials enjoy the time and come back ready to go.

D. Burke also was on the All-Pro-am team as well... Definitely showed the fans that he can play and deserves some time in the games this fall at Bobby Mo...

Go RMU...
