RMU travels across the Keystone State today to play Bucknell. I think they are typically pretty good.

Looks like they are 1-1 this year, beat Manhattan and lost to Wake by 20.

Looks like this could be another tough game for the guys, but every the optimist...

RMU by 5 LOCK IT UP!

A few things I'm looking for tonight that are not noted in the preview....

Robert Morris man-to-man D making strides. Noted in there they are fouling a lot. It'll be interesting to see how the defense plays in it's third game. Remember, RMU has been pretty much all 2-3 zone for the last three years.

More Dachon Burke and Clive Allen. Both really impressed me vs Depaul. Allen can really get to the bucket. I want to see more of these two and what they have. Burke might be the best athlete on the team and --like most nights in NEC play-- will probably be the best athlete on the floor tonight.

Matty McConnell needs to play better. I know he missed a lot of time this offseason with the shoulder surgery, and then missed a few weeks of practice because of an injured ankle...but the team needs him to stretch the D and knock down shots.

RMU did really well offensively against Bucknell last season. The defense stunk. Interested to see how we handle their bigs (Nana Foulland and Zach Thomas). If we bring it defensively, this could get very interesting

Thoughts from a Bball novice:

D-Burke. That kid is going to be menace in the NEC, at very least defensively. He is probably my favorite to watch. Just goes like his behind is on fire.

Allen looks like the real deal to me. Drives hard. You guys that know more BBall than me, would be interested if he could be next great guard at RMU?

B-Burke. Think he will be really good down the road, might not be this year but once he puts everything together he could be great.

Roberto M: Seems to be struggling, but sure is not do to lack of effort. Do not know if he is banged up or not.

Still: Couldn't ask for much more than he did against DePaul, hope this is his big breakout year. Seems like a player the team might be able to lean on to stop runs, keep runs going for RMU.

Matty: Not sure what is going on with him, if it is injuries then that would make sense. I had really high hopes for him.

Giles: Seems to be steady, reliable. He doesn't shoot a lot, but doesn't miss a lot either. Will be interesting to see if he gets some more minutes going forward.

Kavon: Looked to get visibly frustrated in both games. Has the ability to be great, just can't take himself out of the games as he has. Shooting % is awful this year.

Tate: Might be trying to do much shooting, appears to be doing a great job getting boards and banging underneath.

Wright: As was mentioned in the above preview, just hasn't found his shooting. Seems to give a great effort though and stay within himself. I think he will end up being a bigger piece to this team in the near future.

I'm hoping that RMU rides the momentum from almost pulling an upset against DePaul to pulling out a W here.

Much more positives to take from the DePaul game...

Go RMU!!!

Thoughts from a Bball novice: Post game thoughts in red if this works!

D-Burke. That kid is going to be menace in the NEC, at very least defensively. He is probably my favorite to watch. Just goes like his behind is on fire. Did not see a ton of him, on D when I did see him he was going 100%

Allen looks like the real deal to me. Drives hard. You guys that know more BBall than me, would be interested if he could be next great guard at RMU? Still think he should be playing more, think he has lots of potential. I think he should be starting now.

B-Burke. Think he will be really good down the road, might not be this year but once he puts everything together he could be great. Same, going to be great, got into some foul trouble again.

Roberto M: Seems to be struggling, but sure is not do to lack of effort. Do not know if he is banged up or not. No one works harder than him. Still think he banged up. He will be OK. Never a great scorer, but does a lot of dirty stuff.

Still: Couldn't ask for much more than he did against DePaul, hope this is his big breakout year. Seems like a player the team might be able to lean on to stop runs, keep runs going for RMU. Bucknell seemed to have him on lockdown. Tough for him to get shots when he is only or 1 of 2 options on court.

Matty: Not sure what is going on with him, if it is injuries then that would make sense. I had really high hopes for him. Happy to see a good scoring game from him. Came in and had a bad foul on a 3pt attempt, but hit some 3's to keep it reasonably close.

Giles: Seems to be steady, reliable. He doesn't shoot a lot, but doesn't miss a lot either. Will be interesting to see if he gets some more minutes going forward. Glad to see him get some more points, he is smooth inside. I think Toole will start leaning on him a bit more.

Kavon: Looked to get visibly frustrated in both games. Has the ability to be great, just can't take himself out of the games as he has. Shooting % is awful this year. Same old, he draw a lot of fouls on Bucknell, but have to hit the FT.

Tate: Might be trying to do much shooting, appears to be doing a great job getting boards and banging underneath. Tate is Tate, he is grinder. Tough though when him and Roberto on court at same time, really limits team.

Wright: As was mentioned in the above preview, just hasn't found his shooting. Seems to give a great effort though and stay within himself. I think he will end up being a bigger piece to this team in the near future. Hit a 3, maybe more, did not see box score. I think this young man will win us at least one game. I like what he can bring.

I agree with a lot of ur points.

Toole can't afford to put out lineups wjerw there's only 1 maybe 2 people that can kinda score the ball.

Zeah Still didn't play a good game and was locked down by Bucknell who played good D on him, but still needs to have more scorers surrounding him.

Too add to this scoring problem, I like your point of not putting the "two bulls" on the court at the same time (Roberto M. and Tate). They're tough and can get u boards, but can't score really at all.

Billy Giles played a nice game tonight putting up 18 points off the bench and shot 8-10 from the field. Hope he can continue his success.

We'll see if RMU can pick up its first win soon.

Hope Chris Capella helps get it on Sunday @ Richmond.

Go Bobby Mo...
