Congratulations to Montverde CBD wing Aurdric Sandoval who will be continuing his basketball career at Robert Morris University:

Well, looks like he's the final piece to the roster. Hes a Massachusetts native and played this past year as a post-graduate student at Montverde Academy, although it looks like he wasn't part of their high profile varsity team that plays a national schedule.

I'd imagine that he caught RMU's eye during the recent open weekends on the AAU circuit.

Not sure I really I understand this pick up. He's not in the Verbal Commit database and I see very little info on him from HS or post grad. Seems like more of an athlete and potential defensive specialist.

Toole has a track record of taking guys with low profiles. Heck, a couple of his JuCo guys were pretty off the radar. Not many had info on Karvel Anderson or Rodney Pryor and they turned out to be studs. One of Toole's first recruits was a kid from Quebec named Yann Charles that no one knew about. He transferred back closer to home after a year, but he was a good player.

You're not going to find a big man at this point, which was the only area of possible need. Not even one you can groom a bit. So why not go for an athletic kid you're gonna have for four years, throw him out there for 8-10 minutes to play defense and give guys a breather, and let his offense develop.

They weren't gonna get a starter or sixth man at this point. So why not grab a good athlete and see what happens?

That's a great walkon. If he picks up system and can help, maybe a scholly guy next year. Toole can recruit, no doubt about that.

He will be scary if RMU gets into a better conference or he leaves for greener pastures.

Per Omari Sankofa II of the PG, Sandoval will be a walk-on. Colonials still have one scholarship remaining.

Per me, Sandoval looks to be a high-quality walk-on.
Okay, that makes sense.

According to VC we have offers out to numerous HS and JC players who are undecided. Probably working on getting their eligiblity in order, so they could sign late, or even take a transfer who sits out next year.

Interestingly, RMU already published their yearly recruiting class article. Anything now is on top of that.

Those offers may no longer be valid. One of RMU or the player could be no longer interested. The player may not be eligible. A quick look shows that none of the players left on the VC list are recent offers. The most recent is Sarion McGee from back in February. A lot has changed since then.

With two seniors on scholarship (Matty McConnell and Malik Petteway), it could also make sense for RMU to save the scholarship for next year's class. We know Elijah Kiah El will be joining. RMU may be better off adding two other prime recruits from 2019 rather than sifting through the remains of the 2018 class.

Does anyone have any updates on Petteway? He could be a big piece of the puzzel for RMU next year.

Sure, all of that may be true. We don't know. Maybe the scholarship will ultimately go to the walk-on if a really good upgrade is not uncovered. My concern is starting the season with only 11 D1 recruited players. We know all too well how injuries and defections can reduce the roster during the year.

Looks like 6'8 Sarion McGee is going to juco.
Yeah, I'd guess most of the guys on Verbal Commits who haven't committed anywhere are going to JuCo or prep school or somehow otherwise fell out of favor of Division I teams.

At this point, I doubt RMU adds anyone to fill the last spot. Maybe Seth Rouse gets the scholarship.

Verbal Commits shows a new offer to 6'6 JUCO SF Isiah Small. He was at the Judo Advocate 32 event last week to showcase kids to 4 year colleges. School website said he just lead team in scoring during his freshmen year. Maybe he's eligible after one year like we've seen with some others? He shot 59% from the floor so there are likely a bunch of dunks and taking it to the hole in his game.

He's labeled as a 2019 recruit. So he'll play his sophomore season at Seward County with the idea of being part of joining a D-I school for the 2019-2020 season next year.

Same with Jamir Thomas and DJ Russell, the two other JuCo players RMU has offered in the past few months.

RMU recently also offered a handful of high school players who will be seniors next year, including 6-foot-10 Maryland center Olanrewaju Olamuyiwa today.

I'm also interested in seeing if Philly guard Chris Arcidiacono, Ohio PG Brandon Rush, NJ forward Supreme Cook and West Virginia wing Jalen Bridges end up as true targets, because they're all from areas that RMU typically recruits well.
