Nice preview article at DK Sports. Among lots of interesting things, Toole says Petteway is expected back soon.
I noticed in the social media posts that Koby seemed to be running with the second team, so it's interesting he may come off the bench.
Toole did that with Lucky Jones a lot when Lucky was a senior. Jones finished the game with the starters and played a ton of minutes, but it was an attempt to have a second wave of guys come in and keep the tempo up that was established by the starters.
Also noticed Malik a lot in the social media posts. Great to see he's on his way back.
Toole has countless examples he can point to as guys who play starters minutes but who don't start, both pro and right at RMU. Andre Iguodola has done it for a while for Golden State. The Spurs have done it for years with various guys, especially as their stars got older.Except Koby is possibly the most athletic person to come thru RMU Hoops & is only a sophomore. Will he get mad not being a starter? Toole better not screw this one up.

Lucky Jones led RMU in minutes played per game, rebounds per game, and was third in points per game as a senior but only started 19 games. Heck, Leondre Washington started one game last year but played 23.7 minutes per game, fifth most on the team.
If Koby is only worried about his stats and minutes, then he's got one foot out the door already. Considering he still played okay in the scrimmage against Kent State coming off the bench, I think he's okay with it. We'll see how it goes.
Toole changes lineups a lot anyway. This may not stick, even if Koby is 100 percent on board.
They played with a big time team for 30 mins. Leading with I think 12 left. It got away from them at the end, but again, a hell of effort and put a scare in USC. Lots of things to be positive about. 5 and the the Williams will be great NEC players. Other than Lville and Purdue I would not count them out of any OCC game.
Let's not get carried away. Louisville may be on par with USC, but Purdue is a top 25 team. A similar result there would be eye-opening.Heck with this performance you can’t completely count them out of Louisville or Purdue.
Refs were fine. The T on Petteway was bizarre but they tagged USC for the same thing later in the game.Looking at the recap the Colonials were ahead with about 11:30 to go. USC scored last 13 to skew the end result. I didn't see or hear the game but it sounds like a game against Pitt they were ahead mid second half and then refs and superior opponent took over.

If Matty and Jon hit a couple 3s or RMU gets to the basket a bit more, they may have pulled it off. But offense went cold and guys tried to shoot their way back into it so USC pulled away.
It was there for the taking. USC did just enough to pull it out. Good lesson for the guys.
Offense struggled against Missouri State. But that's another good team. Both MSU and USC could very well be tournament teams.
Chance to pick up three wins here before Purdue. Better blow out Mount Aloysius and Miss Valley State and Stetson arent that good.
