RMU has picked up a verbal commitment from JUCO point guard Greg Shead of South Plains College in Texas.

Shead looks to be a pass-first PG. Identical 40% from field and 17% from 3 both last year and in first 10 games this year. Averaging 6 pts and 6 assists.

Hopefully, if he's still taking threes, he can at least get his % above 30%.

But if he has good handles & passes well, that alone is worth picking him up.

He doesn't seem to be a shooter, 3 point or otherwise. Having a drive & dish guy who can handle the ball is good though. Williams had some issues with the NC State press and Washington got more time. So another ball handler is good. I would guess the other scholarship goes to a HS big man, unless we find another grad transfer.

Right having a guy like Kavon Stewart who had really good handles & could break the press well would have been nice last night @ NC State. This guy doesn't have to be a 3 shooter to help the team that's for sure.

& Ya I did notice more Washington & less Williams when Jon was struggling.
