Heard from a well informed source that everything is going as planned for the new convention center and the university hopes to have some "exciting" news soon.
Sounds like good news.

And for those that may have somehow missed it, here is the video on said arena
Have already seen the video, but watched it again anyway.
This is just what the University and Basketball Program needs (for sure) to take it to the next level. More players will be staying and better ones will be coming in with this (really nice) facility.
Also, some better teams & more teams should come during the OOC schedule.
Anyone want to discuss what types of teams might do home and home or 2-1 deals with RMU???
Looking forward to the schedule. Until RMU finishes the new complex, I expect only "buy" games and home and homes, so I don't think any 2 for ones are coming. As for home and homes, expect much of the same. Patriot league, CAA, MAC, Sun Belt, Horizon etc.
If you want a specific team name that I would love to see...how's Monmouth and Iona.
Just because the facilty is nicer won't change a whole lot when it comes to big time opponents coming to Moon. That's the issue with a lot of good low major teams. Taking away this season, RMU is typically a very tough team to beat in Moon. UK learned the hard way.
Big programs fighting for (or hoping to fight for) at large berths don't get any value beating them because the Colonials RPI is never great, but losing to RMU would give them an ugly loss on paper. If you want to play big time opponents at home, you have to improve your RPI so teams aren't afraid to play at your place.
Another route that I would love to see RMU take is a duel sport agreement. Northeastern (CAA) will be hosting Michigan State in basketball because they agreed to play them in hockey too. This is something RMU should try to do with other big hockey programs.
For those interested, here are the details on the MSU/NE agreement. http://www.gonu.com/news/2014/12/10/MBB_1210142205.aspx
I've heard the arena is on pace to open by fall of 2018. That's was the original hope when they announced it too. So yes, it would be his senior year.
