Stopped up for about a half hour. Looks like Matt Gonzalez and Harrison dreher are back this week! That's two really good additions to the offense. Looked like Dylan Young in a walking boot so I assume Rene Rodriguez will get the nod at RT. Also, bussy remaley was the 1st team LG, everything else remained the same. The line looked like this:

LT- Trevor hicks
LG- bussy remaley
C- eric McAllister
RG- Alex Minford
RT- Rene Rodriguez

Thanks for update Ty.

Talk about 2 huge weapons coming in for RMU. Mentioned it in another thread, but really excited to see Dreher out there. I bet he is going to be soo fired up to play, after having to sit out last year. Gonzo is going to be great I think and could be a real matchup problem for a lot of NEC teams.

Hopefully mostly everyone else is healthy. Any word on Andy?

I saw Andy behind the far end zone in basketball shorts doing exercises. I don't have any timetable on him. If I were the coaches, I would hold him out as long as I need to make sure he's 120% that way he is ready to go for NEC play

Just to because I am a dork, and wanted to see it again, I looked up Dreher's high school highlights. Incase anyone else wants to take another look at what this young man is capable of.

Harrison is definitely the greatest RMU player who has never played a down of college football. Hopefully, this week we start to see his talent on display.

Colonial4, you are likely correct. I think they probably have about a 10-15% chance to win, but all you need a chance.

Farrison will have a good game plan for the D, and if the O can hold on to the ball, no turnovers, run some clock so D is not exhausted, you never can be certain. A special teams touchdown, maybe a pick 6. Would take a lot of things to break right, but who knows.

In some ways, it is a no lose game for the Colonials. YSU is expected to win easily. Hopefully, the offense will have a couple of good drives to show promise, and the defense can keep the score somewhat respectable. It will be a big challenge for the guys, one I am sure they look forward to and will learn from. If the Colonials come away with limited injuries, it will be a good experience. RMU's chances of winning are much better than Howard's were against UNLV. Howard a 45 point underdog, paid $600,000 by FBS UNLV. Final Howard 43 UNLV 40. Go Colonials!

YSU will have a let down after playing Pittsburgh, or maybe somewhat beat up. That happened two years ago when the game went into overtime and RMU ended up four yards from tying up the game and sending it to the second overtime. YSU should win but the game needs to be played to see if RMU can secure a big upset.

He looked fantastic but they should have taken him out with less than a minute to go. He got hit hard and was shaken up in the last minute of the game with the score 30 to 0. Why have him in at that point?

The score is deceiving. Unlike last year's beat down from the word go this year's game was a slow burn. I believe it was 13-0 at half and we had success moving the football at times. YSU wore us down late and started pinning their ears back but RMU was very much in 2/3 of the game.

Losing to YSU by thirty is not a concern, although it would have been nice if we could have put seven or even three on the scoreboard. VMI should be a good test, it is a winnable game, but only if the Colonials play well. Any significant injuries at this point?

Allen was shaken up pretty bad delivering a shot. Hope he's well afterwards. This game could have turned out differently had we finished off a couple drives early in the game. The offense moved the ball, but penalties are drive killers. Missed field goals, drops to keep the chains moving as well. These 1st couple games erase the memories of last year, O just need a couple breaks to keep that awesome D fresh! Another forced turnover, many tackles for loss. Holding that team to 3 points after the 1st 2 drives deep in our end... Go RMU, continue to improve... Beat VMI

D gave team a good shot, that fumble was on their first kickoff was tough, but D only allowed the 3. Game really was within reach for much of it. Scoreboard not pretty, but watching the game there was cause for optimism.

ORMC I thought I heard you mention the O line shuffling a lot. Any insight on that?

OL that took the field in the 1st series:

LT - Hicks
LG - Remaley
C - McAllister
RG - Sheldon
RT - Minford

Minford had his hands full with the speed of DE Reed from YSU so the line was shuffled during game.

LT - Hicks
LG - Sheldon
C - McAllister
RG - Minford
RT - Rodriguez

And then after a few series with that lineup, Mundy came in at LG to replace Sheldon.

I'm hoping that after two games that some OL are not on a short leash. Can't have OL out there worried about a mistake made and thinking that this is their last series of the game.
But I'm hoping that the shuffling is because of the talent along the OL. Perhaps they have 7-8 outstanding OL and still trying to find the right combo.

No Dylan Young (that I could see) and no Fennell as well. And not sure what is going on with Fennell. He seems to be healthy as he is dressed for the games.
Not sure why he is not getting a shot at playing.

The defense played a great game, as they always do. As has happened since Coach Hicks left in 2015, we have not had any offense. For the last 13 games, the offense has only scored 9 touchdowns. In 2015 we went into overtime with a very good Youngstown State team, and we were stopped on the YSU five yard line trying to tie the score in overtime. The top two offensive players from that team, Rameses Owens running back and Kyle Buss receiver, left the program after the first game in 2016. Buss was a finalist for FCS freshman receiver of the year award and Owens, was FCS National Freshman of the week, after rushing for 199 yards vs North Dakota in 2014. Harrison looked great running the ball, but other than his performance I don't really see any reason for optimism. The defense can't be effective when the offense does not score, and is unable to move the ball.
