I would like to take a minute to thank the football seniors and redshirt juniors who won't be returning next year. The dedication a college athlete gives to his team for four or more years is admirable. Being a college student can be challenging by itself, but couple that with early morning lifting sessions, meetings, year round conditioning, spring ball, and summer camps and there is very little time for anything else.
Unfortunately, the win/loss column for this group of athletes doesn't add up in their favor but that is not a reflection of the amount of work that they put in, or the amount of "heart" they had for their team and sport. The lessons they learned will suit them well as they move on. Self discipline, determination, hard work and a never quit work ethic are qualities that businesses yearn for in our communities.
I know these seniors to be men of character. May God bless all of them as they go on to do GREAT things in a world that so desperately needs them.
