This team went from playing one of its better halves against Sacred Heart to one of its worst games of the season.
Defensively, they weren't awful. They could have been better, and they were clearly getting frustrated late because they couldn't score.
But offensively, they were inept. Sure, some open shots didn't fall. But they also didn't move the ball well. They took dumb shots. They took early shots. And when they started to climb back into the game early in the second half by driving to the rim and drawing fouls, they stopped. They were in the bonus early. in the second half and could've made up a lot of ground with free throws. In fact, that's a vulnerability for Wagner.
They didn't. They went back to shooting jumpers.
Just a low basketball IQ game. Incredibly frustrating game to watch and I'm sure it was an incredibly frustrating game for Toole and the coaching staff to coach.
Need to go 4-0 or 3-1 at worst in this home stand in order to stay in one of the top two spots, I think. At this stage of the season, that should be the goal - see if they can secure the top or second seed in the NEC tournament.

Obviously this one hurts a lot. We could have had a 2+ game cushion in first place but now we're tied for 1st (kinda in 2nd).
A sweep next week would be big!

This team is so much better when they look to attack the rim first.
