Here is my prediction for the starting lineup. Tell me if you agree, tell me if you disagree, tell me that I am full of crap, tell me your starting lineup. I think the defense can be very strong, especially LB. The offense can be good as well, but needs to establish a good starting QB and the OL needs to stay healthy.

OL:

Nick Faraci

Max Robertson

Anthony Lucian

Josh Thiel

Blake Chambliss

TE:

Nic Lamica

WR:

Jamison Williams

Kyle Buss

Zach Walker

RB:

Rameses Owens

QB:

Mathew Barr

DL:

Austin Trgovicich

Steven Fiadewornu

Ryan Lewis

LB:

Kimani Smith

Gerald Ferguson

T J Waters

Mike Stojdovic

DB:

Marcelis Branch

Andy Smigiera

Drew Allen

Owen Nearhoof

Offensive line is gonna be lamb, Lucian, faraci, Robertson, and whoever wins the other tackle job. Richards will start over nearhoof at safety. And Forrest mason over Lewis at D end. I would say that's fairly accurate though pending any injuries that may occur the next couple weeks. this team will be at the top of the NEC within two years. The freshman and sophomore class are going to be very good

Open questions for whoever wants to reply:
I have Fiadewornu starting on the D-line. Does that seem likely?
How about my choices for WR, Williams, Buss and Walker?
Which freshmen seem likely to contribute early?
Which returning players do you expect to take a big step up and impress this year?

Swiss Steve will start at D tackle, max onyenwe isn't coming back so he'll have a big burden on his shoulders. Williams walker and buss are gonna have big years in my opinion. I think the lineman Diaz and metheney are gonna make an impact with the lack of offensive line depth along with the starting quarterback which will be one of the 3 freshman. With an improved line and quarterback I also think the healthy running backs (line, Blake, owens) will all do well also. The defense pretty much kept everybody except onyenwe and Eddie, so I see them being better than last year. All in all im excited for the season, they brought back so many starters and recruited a lot of talent which will improve competition for all the starting spots

As I have indicated, I think the linebacker unit should be outstanding. I would like to hear from any of you, do you agree or disagree?

Hoping Original_RMC will comment on the team.

linebackers have got to be the top strength on paper. The defense as a whole looks really good. Problem is, I wonder if they will be able to move the ball at all.

I think they will, the three new quarterbacks they brought in are all better than every qb previously on the roster from last season. Matt Barr and Tyler brown are both pretty solid. Running backs will be good too, and between lamica, Jamison williams, Zach walker, Kyle buss, they have a good combination of size and speed at tught end and receiver. The biggest question mark is that offensive line, last season was atrocious and gave the quarterbacks no time and the running backs very few holes. Diaz and metheney are both good recruits and they have some depth returning. I think they will be upgraded a little bit. That's the key to the whole offense is if that line can improve from last season

Is Barr looking to be the man at QB at this point? If so, is anyone a close second?

It's looking like Barr as the starter and Tyler brown is right behind him. They're both pretty good

Based on?
Based on offseason workouts, raw talent, preseason training, and which guys are currently taking the most reps
The depth chart is currently:

Matt Barr
Tyler Brown
Reid McCoy
Luke Brumbaugh
Derick Abbott
Joe Carroll
